Russia In Prophecy

It appears that President Putin of Russia is taking major steps so that Russia will become the dominant superpower of the world. This could be the evilly conceived steps that are needed to prepare Russia (known as Gog and Magog) to fulfill prophecy in their attack against Israel during the Battle of Armageddon, as seen in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Iran (known as Persia) will be in a corrupt collation with Russia when they brutally attack Israel with deadly intent to wipe out all Jews. Russia has often been symbolized by a bear because of its brute strength when attacking enemies.

Ever since the USSR dissolved, Russia has continued to have weapons of mass destruction and other weapons equal with those of the United States. Russia intends on supplying Iran (known as Persia) with defense missiles. As stated, Iran (Persia) will be a close ally with Russia in fulfillment of prophecy.

In 2014, Russia took control of a naval base from Ukraine in the Black Sea that allows them to have a wartime strategic advantage against other nations.

In 2015, Russia put on a victory parade to remind the world of past victories and their power for potential future victories. Russia also staged war games that made the war games of NATO look small in comparison.

Recently, Russia has been flexing its war power muscles by moving into Syria and brutally attacking ISIS, the feared enemy of the civilized world.

Russia is not a toothless or clawless bear. When the Soviet Union was dissolved, Russia kept a big supply of nuclear weapons. Russia, the Bear, could be a deadly enemy of any nation in the world. Russia may use these weapons and others against their enemies in the future. Like Iran, they may have weapons of mass destruction that they have not revealed to the rest of the world.

“According to the Federation of American Scientists, an organization that assesses nuclear weapon stockpiles, in 2013, Russia possessed an estimated 8,500 total nuclear warheads of which 1,800 were strategically operational. The organization also claims that the U.S. had an estimated total 7,700 nuclear warheads of which 1,950 were strategically operational.” ⁽¹⁾

Russia has 1,600 missile warheads that could reach and destroy United States territory. If only a fraction of these Russian missiles hit the United States, it could wipe out our electric grid and our financial networks. It would bring America down to its knees before the brute beast Russia, the bear.

Iran wants to purchase S-300 missile defense systems from Russia to protect its nuclear program that it has continually lied about. Currently, Iran does not have advanced air defense systems to detect and destroy ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft. Russia has agreed to deliver updated, advanced S-300 missile defense systems to Iran, for this type of defense. It appears that Russia and Iran are moving closer to a strong alliance, as described in Bible prophecy. As prophesied, you can be sure that Russia and Iran will have a strong alliance when they march on Israel with the intention of destroying all of the Jews.

A 2010 United Nations resolution bans the supply, sale or transfer to Iran of missiles or missile systems. Officials in Moscow, Russia said that there was no longer a need to prohibit sales of surface-to-air-missiles to Iran due to the progress of nuclear talks between world powers and Iran. Of course, now a deadly deal has been struck with the Iranian terrorists. Iran officials are projecting that Russia will deliver defense missiles to them before the end of 2015.

Russia seized seaports in Crimea, Ukraine that are strategically vital for Russian trade and tactical attacks against their enemies. The city of Sevastopol in Crimea has an important naval base for Russia on the shores of the Black Sea. Russia had a treaty with Ukraine to use the naval base in Sevastopol. But, the government of Ukraine had continually threatened to stop Russia from using the naval base in Sevastopol. Russia did not allow Ukraine to stop them from using the base in Sevastopol. Russia has taken control of parts of the Ukraine, including the naval base, by force. This naval base allows Russia to have naval power on a worldwide scale. There are currently around 15,000 Russian personnel stationed at the naval base of Sevastopol, Crimea. This is a military advantage that Russia is not willing to give up without a fight. It appears that Russia will hold onto this tactical seaport in Sevastopol just like a bear will hold onto a pink salmon.

Russia put on a Victory Day parade in 2015 to celebrate its allied victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. The Soviet Union, mostly Russia, lost 26 million people in this devastating war. Russia’s Victory Day parade displays its present military strength. It has no intention of losing Russian lives like it did in the past. Also, in 2015, Russia staged military exercises that made NATO look small in comparison. NATO is a group of mostly European nations and North America which have formed an alliance to fight against any enemies when necessary. Russia’s war exercise far outnumbered NATO’s war exercise in both soldiers and military equipment.

In September of 2015, the president of the United States appeared to surrender the dominant power of the United States to Vladimir Putin of Russia. The United States was in the lead on attacking Muslim ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq. It appears that the plan is for the government of the Untied States to talk ISIS to death by diplomacy while Russia leads a coalition in a brutal attack against the stronghold of ISIS in Syria. Sweet talk will not stop ISIS, which is like a rattlesnake. But, Russia, the bear, may stop them with brute force. The only way to stop a rattlesnake for sure is to cut its head off. Russia has been attacking the headquarters of ISIS.

In opposition to the United States president, Russian president Putin formed an alliance with the tyrant Bashar Assad, president of Syria. Besides attacking ISIS, Putin’s soldiers from Russia are attacking anyone who opposes President Bashar Assad. A civil war has been going on in Syria for about four years. Much of this civil war in Syria is due to the inhuman slaughters carried out by the troops of Syrian President Bashar Assad. An estimated 126,000 people are dead due to the war actions ordered by President Assad. Chemical weapons have killed more than 1,000, including over 400 children. Hundreds of thousands have been wounded in Syria. Over 2 million people have fled to other countries from the civil war in Syria.

It appears that the Muslim ISIS terrorists are both the enemy of the Untied States and Russia. But, the enemy of your enemy is not always your friend. It could be that Russia has its own agenda for wiping out ISIS. It may be that they want to gain more allies and more territory, as they did in Ukraine. Russian president Putin and other leaders recently threatened, at the United Nations, to take the superpower of the United States away. Russia is causing heavy casualties to the murderous ISIS group. Russian officials said that the United States only pretended to bomb ISIS. If Russia succeeds in defeating ISIS, they will most likely gain more allies by either fear or respect for their removal of the ISIS threat.

It appears that we could be fast moving into end time prophecy. At the appointed time, Russia (Gog and Magog) and Iran (Persia) will attack Israel. This prophesied attack appears to be in the second half of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. Many Jews will die during the second half of the Tribulation. But prophecy tells us that Russia and their evil coalition will suffer the greatest loss of life.

Anyone who knows the Lord Jesus as their Saviour will not be here on Earth during this destructive battle. The Rapture / Translation of the church will take place before the seven-year Tribulation begins. Make sure that you repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus as your Saviour. Do not trust your own good deeds to save you. Call on Jesus to save you from the penalty of your sins before it is too late. After death, there will not be an opportunity to be saved. You can be certain that the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 and 39 will be fulfilled. Many people will die and go out into eternity without any hope. They will wake up in the tormenting fires of Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire.

Ezekiel 39:1-4 “Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog [Russia], and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog [Russia], the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal [Russia]: ² And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: ³ And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. ⁴ Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.”
