Iran wants to purchase S-300 missile defense systems from Russia to protect its nuclear program that it has continually lied about. Currently, Iran does not have advanced air defense systems to detect and destroy ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft. Russia has agreed to deliver updated, advanced S-300 missile defense systems to Iran, for this type of defense. It appears that Russia and Iran are moving closer to a strong alliance, as described in Bible prophecy. Their alliance is described in Ezekiel 38. Russia is called by the name Magog, and Iran is called Persia. You can be sure that Russia and Iran will have a strong alliance when they march on Israel with the intention of destroying all of the Jews.
A 2010 United Nations resolution bans the supply, sale or transfer to Iran of missiles or missile systems. Officials in Moscow, Russia said that there was no longer a need to prohibit sales of surface-to-air-missiles to Iran due to the progress of nuclear talks between world powers and Iran.
“‘Russia could deliver the missile systems later this year’, Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.” (1)
Many United States officials are concerned about Russia deciding to sell these S-300 missile defense systems to Iran.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed Israel’s ‘grave concerns’ over Moscow’s decision, worried it could increase Iran’s ‘aggressiveness’ in the region.” (2)
Russia has moved S-300 and more advanced S-400 missile defense systems into Ukraine and surrounding areas. It is a show of power to defy the United Nations, including the United States. Russia has also put them in place to protect their interests in the area.
Since Russia has been put under sanctions by the United Nations, because of its take over of parts of Ukraine, it is forming a stronger alliance with Iran. Russia and Iran have signed a military agreement to stand against “interference” from the United States.
Some people may consider it oaky for Iran to be able to defend itself with S-300 missile defense systems. But, what they really want to do is defend their nuclear program that they have constantly lied about. If they can get a missile defense system in place, they can launch nuclear missiles against other nations. A missile defense system would hinder injured nations from striking back at Iran.
We can be sure that Russia and Iran will form a stronger alliance in the future. But, as Christians, it is our job to speak out against these enemies of God and Israel!
