Earth Quakes End Times

Jesus told His disciples that before He comes back to the Earth in His Second Coming there would be earthquakes in divers (different) places. During the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, there will be several destructive earthquakes for the purpose of bringing judgment on unrepentant sinners. Since it often takes trouble in people’s lives before they turn to God, many people will repent and turn to Jesus as their Saviour as a result of some of these Tribulation judgment earthquakes.

Since Jesus prophesied that there would be earthquakes in divers places, earthquakes have shook cities and people all across the world. Multitudes of people were killed and injured as a result of these earthquakes. Also, homes, businesses and other property were lost by the destructive force of the earthquakes.

Nepal Earthquake Israel Rescue Aids

The deadly earthquakes in Nepal, in 2015, are the ones that many of us think about because they were so recent. Over 5,000 people died as a result of these earthquakes in Nepal. Rescue workers from all over the world came to the aid of devastated Nepal. The Jewish people of the nation of Israel played a major role in the rescue efforts. Besides the destruction of homes and businesses, many treasured historical sites were demolished by the earthquakes.

Over 81% of the people in Nepal practice the false religion of Hinduism. Most of the remaining people of Nepal worship other false gods. The religion of Hinduism varies in beliefs. But, generally, those who practice this religion believe that they are reincarnated over and over as they strive to improve themselves by doing good deeds. But, we cannot get to Heaven by doing good works. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Most of those who practice Hinduism worship many gods. Many of these false gods are made of wood or stone. Those who were following the false gods of Hinduism or other false gods when they died in the earthquake will not escape everlasting punishment because there is no such thing as reincarnation.

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

As Paul eloquently told the people of Athens, there is only one true God. The one true God sent Jesus to provide salvation for them. All they needed to do was repent and believe on Jesus as their Saviour.

Acts 17:22-23 “Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.”

Acts 17:29-31 “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

Earthquake Sumatra Indonesia 2004

In 2004, a deadly earthquake shook the seabed of the Indian Ocean causing five tsunamis to bring death and destruction to Sumatra, Indonesia. In just the first ten minutes of this earthquake, it cost over $7 billion dollars for rescue and damages. As many as 225,000 people died, and there were multitudes injured. Sadly, many of these people who died did not know the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Over 87% of the people in Sumatra worship the false god of Islam. Most, if not all of the remaining population of Sumatra, serve other false gods. Therefore, we must conclude that most of these people who died as a result of the earthquake died and lifted up their eyes in the torments of Hell, like the man described in the Scriptures. There will be no rescue from the flames of Hell for those who failed to repent and believe on Jesus while they were alive on Earth. If you are an earthquake survivor, we encourage you to repent and believe on Jesus as your Saviour before it is too late for you.

Luke 16:24 “And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”

Earthquake Japan 2011

“On March 11, 2011, the east coast of Tohoku in Japan was struck by a 9.03 magnitude earthquake, which was the strongest to ever hit Japan. Considered one of the top five largest earthquakes in the world, it caused destruction that claimed 15,878 lives, left 6,126 injured and 2,173 people missing across 20 prefectures. It also caused the collapse of 129,225 buildings, while the tsunami brought about by the quake also caused severe structural damages, fires in many areas, and damages in roads and railways. This was the most difficult crisis Japan had ever faced after World War II as it did not only inflict damages to lives and properties, but also caused significant damages to four major nuclear power stations. Debris from the tsunami reached as far as Canada and Hawaii.” (1)

The religions of Shinto and Buddhism dominate Japan. These are religions of false gods and damning beliefs. As a result of the earthquake in 2011, those who went out from Tohoku into eternity trusting in these religions now realize that their religion was a false religion. Satan has many religious traps set for people. Satan traps most people into a religion that teaches the false doctrine that you need to do some form of good deeds to earn eternal happiness. But, to achieve true eternal happiness, you cannot do any good deeds. Jesus accomplished all of the work on the cross for our eternal happiness in Heaven.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

During one week in October of 2015, over 200 smaller earthquakes shook San Ramon Valley, California. These were not big enough to do any real damage or cause anyone to die. But, they certainly should be a warning to the people of California. It seems like just about every thing that is corrupting America has some ties to California. If the citizens of California do not take heed to God’s warnings, they may face judgment earthquakes of epic proportions in the future. Earthquakes continue to shake the people of the world, as Jesus prophesied would happen before He returns in His Second Coming.

Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”

Just as sure as the world has been shook by multitudes of deadly earthquakes in the past, prophecy tells us that even more deadly earthquakes will happen during the prophesied seven-year Tribulation.

Earthquake Blood Moon And Four Horsemen

When Jesus, the Lamb, opens the first through the third seals revealing the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, people all over the world will be killed by war, starvation, and other things. Even the wild beasts will turn on people and kill them. People will die by many horrifying methods. World-wide, major, deadly earthquakes will also be used to kill people. During this time of the Tribulation, the judgment from the three seals that Jesus opens will kill one fourth of the world population. The present population of the world is 7,375,944,600. This number represents seven billion, three hundred and seventy-five million, nine hundred and forty-four thousand and six hundred people on the planet Earth. This number is growing at a rapid rate. If the Tribulation were to start shortly, these events described in Revelation 6 would kill approximately 1,843,986,150 people. This number represents one billion, eight hundred and forty-three million, nine hundred and eighty-six thousand and one hundred and fifty people killed. These combined seal judgments will kill more people than has ever been killed by all of the earthquakes in the history of the Earth.

Revelation 6:12-17 “And I beheld when he [Jesus, the Lamb] had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

Many of the events in the book of Revelation will overlap each other during the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. Here in Revelation 6:12 we see that when the sixth seal is opened there is a great, world-wide earthquake released. This event could actually take place near the end of the Tribulation just before the Second Coming of Jesus. This is not a normal earthquake. This earthquake will be caused by Jesus, for judgment. Also, we see that the sun will become black and the moon will become as blood. These events with the sun and moon will not be normal occurrences. Jesus will cause these events to happen by a miracle. It appears that this is the same end time events signifying the Second Coming of Jesus, as described by Joel, Joel 2:30-32; Revelation 6:12.

The prophecy says that the stars will fall unto the Earth. This apparently means that the stars will leave their normal orbit and cause great disaster on the Earth. If a complete star collided with the Earth it would demolish the Earth. But, it is very likely that pieces of the stars will also break loose and strike the Earth, Revelation 6:13.

It is well known by scientists that the moon, planets and stars influence environmental events on the Earth. These heavenly bodies will be in a state of chaos during this time of judgment. There will be world-wide disaster. Mountains will tumble and many islands may even sink. Every mountain and island will be displaced. There will be no safe place for the unrepentant sinners, Revelation 6:14.

Since it appears that there will not be any safe man-made shelter, people from all levels of society all over the world will hide in the caves and rocks of the remaining, displaced mountains, Revelation 6:15.

Instead of repenting and believing on Jesus as Saviour, these rebels will plea for the mountains and the rocks to fall on them. They will be terrified because of the wrath of God the Father and Jesus, the Lamb, Revelation 6:16.

These people who have painted Jesus as a little sissy will be in for a great shock when He comes against their rebellion in wrath, Revelation 6:17.

During the Tribulation, there will be a great earthquake in Jerusalem. As a result of this earthquake it appears that the remaining Jewish remnant of the world will get saved.

Earthquake In Jerusalem

Revelation 11:3 “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.”

If we can determine the time period when the two witnesses are on Earth, we can determine the time frame within the prophesied seven-years when the great earthquake will take place in Jerusalem. At the beginning of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, the Anti-Christ will make a seven-year peace agreement with the Jews. For three and one-half years, the vile creature, the Anti-Christ, will protect the Jews. But, then the Anti-Christ will turn on them like a rabid wolf after innocent sheep. Two prophets will be sent to prophesy for a thousand, two hundred and threescore days. If you divide these days by 360 days for a prophetic year, it comes out to three and one-half years. The time of the Gentiles, when the two prophets are on the Earth, seems to take place during the second half of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, Luke 21:20-24. The Jews will be fleeing for their lives after the abomination of desolation happens in the Temple. This second half of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation is called the great Tribulation. The Gentiles will have the upper hand over the Jews during this second half of the seven-year Tribulation until King Jesus returns, Matthew 24:15-21. The two witnesses will prophesy until around the time Jesus returns in the Second Coming, Revelation 11:3.

Revelation 11:7 “And when they [two witnesses] shall have finished their testimony, the beast [Anti-Christ] that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them [two witnesses], and shall overcome them, and kill them [two witnesses].”

At the end of forty-two months, the Anti-Christ will kill the two witnesses. The two witnesses will be finished with their job on Earth. For forty-two months, they will continually warn people to not take the Mark of the Beast. They will testify about Jesus and His saving power for the Jews and the Gentiles of the world. As a result of their witness, multitudes of people will be saved. But, there will continue to be those who fall for the deceitful tricks and lies of Satan, Revelation 11:7.

Revelation 11:8 “And their [two witnesses] dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city [Jerusalem], which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where [Jerusalem] also our Lord [Jesus] was crucified.”

Before the Second Coming of Jesus, near the end of the Tribulation, Jerusalem will become more like Sodom, as described by God, Jeremiah 23:14. God will allow the great Tribulation to come on the Jews because of their continued rebellion against Him and for their continued rejection of Jesus as their Saviour. When the two witnesses are alive, they will continually remind the people present in Jerusalem that Jesus was crucified there for them. But, once the Anti-Christ murders the two witnesses and they lay dead in the street, the rebels will throw a short-lived victory party, Revelation 11:8.

Revelation 11:11-13 “And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them [two witnesses], and they [two witnesses] stood upon their [two witnesses] feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them [two witnesses]. 12 And they [two witnesses] heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them [two witnesses], Come up hither. And they [two witnesses] ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their [two witnesses] enemies beheld them [two witnesses].  13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city [Jerusalem] fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant [Jews] were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven [The remnant of Jews will be saved].”

The two witnesses will be brought back to life by the Spirit of God after lying on the street in Jerusalem for three and one-half days. When the two witnesses resurrect, fear will strike the hearts of those watching, Revelation 11:11.

The two witnesses will be called to Heaven by a great voice from Heaven. Just as the disciples saw Jesus ascend to Heaven in a cloud, the people in Jerusalem will see the two witnesses ascend up to Heaven in a cloud, Revelation 11:12.

After the two witnesses are gone, there will be a great earthquake in Jerusalem. No doubt, the earthquake will even be felt in the wilderness where God is protecting the Jewish remnant during the second half of the Tribulation. We are told that all of the Jewish remnant who are under God’s protection are saved. It appears that the place that God will protect the Jews, for three and one-half years, when they are under attack from Satan and his cohorts, will be Petra, Revelation 12:12-17.

One-tenth of the city of Jerusalem will fall into a heap of rubble as a result of the great earthquake. It appears that it is seven thousand Jewish men that are killed in this great earthquake. These will probably be Jews who have continued to rebel against God and reject Jesus as Saviour. The remnant of Jews wherever they are will be saved after being frightened by the great earthquake.

It appears that all Jews from all over the world will come to Israel in the end times. This Jewish remnant who get saved as a result of the great earthquake are probably the remaining Jews of the world after two- thirds of the Jews are killed by attacking enemies. One-third of the Jews will be left alive. This will be a fulfillment of the prophecy of all Israel being saved. Every Jew alive at that time will be saved, Revelation 11:13.

Romans 11:26-27 “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer [Jesus], and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob [Israel]: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”

Zechariah 13 tells about two-thirds of the Jews being killed during the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. But, the remaining third of the Jews repents of their sins and believes on the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. They call on Jesus in prayer to save them from the penalty of their sins. It is said that there are presently about 14,200,000 Jews in the world. If this many Jews were to go into the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, and two thirds of them get killed, there would be a Jewish remnant left of 4,733,333 who get saved during the Tribulation. In written terms, the remaining one-third of Jews would be four million, seven hundred and thirty-three thousand and three hundred and thirty-three. Of course, all Jews who have repented and believed on Jesus before the Tribulation will also be included in the saved Jewish remnant that reigns with King Jesus during His thousand-year reign. There will also be Jews who get saved during the thousand year reign of Jesus. Of course, we mean that they will be saved when they accept Jesus as their personal Saviour. Contrary to what some falsely teach, not all Jews will be saved throughout history. The only Jews who will be saved must repent and believe on Jesus as their Saviour. Those Jews who do not get saved will spend eternity in Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire.

Zechariah 13:8-9 “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts [of Jews] therein shall be cut off and die; but the third [of Jews] shall be left therein. 9 And I [Jesus] will bring the third part [of Jews] through the fire, and will refine them [Jews] as silver is refined, and will try them [Jews] as gold is tried: they [Jews] shall call on my name [Jesus], and I [Jesus] will hear them [Jews]: I [Jesus] will say, It is my [Jesus] people [Jews]: and they [Jews] shall say, The LORD is my God.”

It appears that the Tribulation Jewish remnant will be saved before Jesus sets His feet down on the Mount of Olives causing another great earthquake. When Jesus sets His feet on the Mount of Olives causing an earthquake, He will be preparing the Earth for His thousand year reign, as seen in Zechariah 14.

Zechariah 14:4-5 “And his [Jesus] feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD [Jesus] my God shall come, and all the saints with thee [Jesus].”

It appears that the great earthquake, described in Revelation 11, will cause the Jews to run for safety under the protection of Jesus. When the Jews see the pierce marks of Jesus, they will all be saved.

Zechariah 12:9-10 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I [Jesus] will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I [Jesus] will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they [Jews] shall look upon me [Jesus] whom they [Jews] have pierced, and they [Jews] shall mourn for him [Jesus], as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him [Jesus], as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”

It appears that both Jews and Gentiles will get saved when they see the pierce marks that Jesus received on the cross.

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he [Jesus] cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him [Jesus], and they [Jews] also which pierced him [Jesus]: and all kindreds [Jews and Gentiles] of the earth shall wail because of him [Jesus]. Even so, Amen.”

The earthquakes and other judgments of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation have a purpose. These judgments will destroy the enemies of Jesus. But, they will also refine the Jewish remnant who will be saved. Sadly, most people do not seek God unless they go through troubles. This is exactly what will happen to the Jews who are mostly rebelling against God and rejecting Jesus as Saviour. In this time of great Tribulation, one-third of the Jews will turn from their sins and believe on Jesus as their Saviour. When the Tribulation is over, King Jesus will finally rule over the Jewish remnant from a newly built Temple in Israel.

Time To Be Saved

Life passes by so quickly. Time to be saved will soon be gone. After death, there is no more time or opportunity to make sure you know that you will spend eternity with God. We encourage all of our readers not to wait for trouble in your life to repent and believe on Jesus as your Saviour. It will be too late if you die without being saved. Call on Jesus today to save you from the penalty of sin in Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire. Please let us know if you put your trust in Jesus to save you.
