Showers Of Blessings On Israel
It was prophesied that God would bless Israel with the proper amount of water for drinking and agriculture. Since 1948 when Israel became a nation again, the Jews of Israel has been blessed by an abundant supply of water. In order to keep the water pure for drinking, God has provided a natural, efficient water purification system for the Jews. In the past, the land of Israel fell under a curse because of the disobedience of the Jews. But, prophecy tells how God would again send the land of Israel the former and latter rains.
God has blessed Israel with the proper amount of water for drinking and agriculture since it became a nation again in 1948, Isaiah 66:8, 9. The promise to supply Israel with an endless supply of water will be fully fulfilled during the thousand year reign of Jesus. It appears that God is giving the Jews a taste of things to come. Water is flowing across the nation of Israel to meet the needs of the Jews, their animals, and the vegetation.
Isaiah 41:17-18 “When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. 18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.”
God has miraculously provided a great supply of clean, pure water for the Jews of Israel. In order to keep the water pure for drinking, God has provided a natural, efficient water purification system for the Jews. The Dan River gushes out of the ground like a geyser. The Dan River, along with two other tributaries, runs into the Jordan River.
The water from the Jordan River is then filtered through the Lake Huleh Swamp. As the Jordan River water passes through the swamp, silt is removed and bacteria action purifies the water. When the water enters the Sea of Galilee, it has been purified of pollution. God has blessed the Jews by setting up this natural water purification system in the Promised Land.
In the past, the land of Israel fell under a curse because of the disobedience of the Jews. God promised blessings to the Jews if they would serve Him. But, God also pronounced a curse on Israel if they failed to obey Him. From around 70AD till around 1948, the land of Israel was under a curse because of the disobedience of the Jews. As a result of their disobedience, God allowed the Jews to be cast off of the Promised Land. They were scattered all over the world because of their disobedience.
God is bringing the Jews back to Israel from all over the world so that He can prepare them to obey Him. Presently, most Jews are not obeying the Scriptures correctly. Many Jews are trying in vain to earn eternal salvation by keeping their customs and the laws of God. Keeping customs and obedience to God’s laws cannot earn salvation. But, true spiritual salvation should result in obedience to God’s laws. Sadly, most Jews have missed the only true salvation through Jesus. After more refinement, God will be able to give the remnant of obedient, saved Jews the full blessings, instead of curses. The land of Israel was dry and barren for many years, as a result of rebellious Jews. The picture of Israel below is from the 1800’s.
Deuteronomy 28:15 “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:”
Deuteronomy 28:24-25 “The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed. 25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.”
Prophecy tells how God will send Israel the former and latter rains. For many years, the land of Israel did not receive the former rain and the latter rain when the disobedient Jews were scattered all over the world. But, since the Jews became a nation again, the former and latter rains have returned. These are the two rain seasons that are necessary for an abundant supply of drinking water and water for agriculture. The former rains come in the fall when major crops like wheat and barley are planted. Just before these crops are harvested in the spring, the latter rain gives them a big boost in growth.
Deuteronomy 8:7-8 “For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;”
Unlike the surrounding nations around Israel, rain in Israel has continually increased, most of the time, since it became a nation again in 1948. In 1948, rainfall was at about 21.1 inches per year. Around 2007, the rainfall in northern Israel increased to 35 inches per year. Even though southern Israel does not have much rain, it is supplied with an abundance of water by pipelines from the Sea of Galilee. As a result of water being supplied to southern Israel, crops flourish there. Without the former and latter rain, the crops of Israel would be a failure. The former and latter rains fall on the crops and replenish the water in the rivers, lakes, etc. The prophecy of the former and latter rain will be fully realized during the millennial reign of Jesus on Earth. During the reign of Jesus, the former and latter rains will consistently be supplied by God to His obedient servants.
Joel 2:23-27 “Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.”
During the thousand year reign of Jesus, everyone will be required to come to Jerusalem once a year to worship King Jesus and to keep the Feast of the Tabernacles, Zechariah 14:16-21. Those who refuse to come to Jerusalem to worship King Jesus and to keep the Feast of the Tabernacles will be punished. First, they will be punished by not having any rain. This will cause their seeds not to produce and any crops to whither away in the field. Also, it will cause drinking water to be in short supply. If they still refuse to come to Jerusalem, they will be punished with a deadly plague. Most of the time, it rains on the just and unjust, Matthew 5:45. God has set things in place from the creation of the world. But God often intervenes and even changes the weather.
During the thousand-year reign of Jesus, those who worship King Jesus, like they should, and keep the Feast of the Tabernacles will be blessed. These obedient servants of God will enjoy a lush, beautiful paradise watered by an abundant supply of rain. They will be provided with an abundant supply of food and beautiful scenery.
The remnant of saved Jews will finally enjoy the Promised Land of Israel to its full potential. Prophecy tells us that a remnant of saved Jews will be planted like a tree by the river, Psalms 1. They will finally enjoy the fruit of the Promised Land of Israel. God can make this prophetic promise to the Jews because He knows that there will be a saved Jewish remnant. This promise is not to the church. God’s promise to Abraham is certain and secure for the Jewish remnant because God knows the future in complete detail. Those Jews who do not repent and believe on Jesus as their Saviour will not enjoy the Promised Land of Israel in the millennial reign of King Jesus.
Amos 9:13-15 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him [Jews] that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. 14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people [Jews] of Israel, and they [Jews] shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they [Jews] shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they [Jews] shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 15 And I will plant them [Jews] upon their [Jews] land, and they [Jews] shall no more be pulled up out of their [Jews] land which I have given them [Jews], saith the LORD thy [Jews] God.”
It appears that we are living in the days of end time prophecy. In the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, Israel will finally be saved from their enemies. Jesus, the Messiah, will rescue them. But, more than being rescued physically, the Jews need to be saved spiritually. Jesus is the living water that can satisfy the dry, dead, thirsty soul. Presently, most Jews are not saved spiritually.
Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”
We encourage all Jews to repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus as their Saviour today, Mark 1:15. When the remnant of Jews see Jesus during the Tribulation, they will be saved, Psalms 22:11-23; Zechariah 13:6-9. They will drink from the well of salvation. But, if you die without calling on Jesus to save you from the penalty of sin in Hell, it will be too late after death. There will be no water in Hell, Luke 16:23-26.
Isaiah 12:2-4 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. 3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. 4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.”
