The enemies of the Jewish people have tried to take the land of Israel away from the Jewish people for several centuries. Sarah caught Ishmael mocking Isaac. His seed is still doing the same to Isaac’s seed, the Jewish people. The Palestinian Arabs curse and throw rocks at the Jews in mockery. But, God told Abraham to cast out Ishmael, and one day, in the future, God will cast Ishmael’s seed out of the Promised Land! The Palestinians are squatters on the land of Israel. Israel owns the land, but the Romans put Israel off the land after the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D. This can be discovered by researching the records from history. The name of Israel and other things were changed for the purpose of bringing harm to the Jews. It was and still is an act of anti-Semitism!
Genesis 21:9-13 “And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. 10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. 11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son. 12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. 13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.”
When researching the origin of the name Palestine, as being applied to the land that is promised to Israel, at first, it was hard to find any information about the origin of Palestine. It is important to determine how, when, and why the land of Israel is called Palestine. It took several different internet searches using different words in an attempt to find the origin of the Palestine designation for the land of Israel. It was as if the information had been wiped from history or that the Devil was trying to keep it a secret. The Devil does not want this information easy to access because he hates God and his chosen people, the Jews. The Devil and his followers have tried to wipe out history regarding the Jewish Holocaust in the same manner. The Devil would like to see another Jewish Holocaust as a result of the conflict between Israel and the people who are falsely called Palestinians!
A vast amount of information is available when an internet search is done on the Roman emperor named Hadrian. A Google search using “Hadrian named Palestine” revealed a vast amount of information for the origin of Palestine. The Roman Emperor Hadrian set out to wipe the name Israel from history and especially its connection to the Promised Land. The following is one quote that shows the origin of calling the land of Israel by the false name Palestine. The quote also shows how Christians and churches are falsely being persuaded that Palestine is the proper name for the land, which the people who are called Palestinians presently occupy.
“Where did the term Palestine originate from? How did the world and the church get into the habit of calling the land of Israel ‘Palestine’? One of the guides we use in our tours to Israel is Zvi Rivai, an Israeli Messianic believer, who has done considerable research on this subject. Zvi informs us that before 135 A.D., the Romans used the terms Judea and Galilee to refer to the Land of Israel. When Titus destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D., the Roman government struck a coin with the phrase ‘Judea Capta,’ meaning Judea has been captured. The term Palestine was never used in the early Roman designations.
It was not until the Romans crushed the second Jewish revolt against Rome in 135 A.D. under Bar Kochba that Emperor Hadrian applied the term Palestine to the Land of Israel. Hadrian, like many dictators since his time, realized the propaganda power of terms and symbols. He replaced the shrines of the Jewish Temple and the Sepulchre of Christ in Jerusalem with temples to pagan deities. He changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitalina, and changed the name of Israel and Judea to Palestine. Hadrian’s selection of Palestine was purposeful, not accidental. He took the name of the ancient enemies of Israel, the Philistines, Latinized it to Palestine, and applied it to the Land of Israel. He hoped to erase the name Israel from all memory. Thus, the term Palestine as applied to the Land of Israel was invented by the inveterate enemy of the Bible and the Jewish people, Emperor Hadrian.
It is interesting to note that the original Philistines were not Middle Eastern at all. They were European peoples from the Adriatic Sea next to Greece. It may have pleased Hadrian to utilize this Hellenistic term for the Jewish land. In any case, the original ‘Palestinians’ had nothing to do, whatsoever, with any Arabs.” (19)
Another source gives us an additional view of the history of the name change from Israel to Palestine.
“Later in 135 A.D., the Romans (under Hadrian) suppressed the Bar Kochba uprising, completely destroying the Holy City of Jerusalem and sending all Jews into exile. In an attempt to end all Jewish hope for an independent state Hadrian renamed the land from Judaea to Palestine.” (20)
The Palestinian Arabs are trespassers who will be cast out of Israel in the future.
