Second Coming Prophecy 3

Joel’s prophecy about the Second Coming of Jesus tells us that just before Jesus comes back to Earth a dark sun and a blood moon will overshadow the Earth. The Earth will be ravaged by blood, fire, and smoke. The Second Coming of Jesus will take place near the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. The Rapture of the church, consisting of believers, will take place before the prophesied seven-year Tribulation begins. When Jesus comes back in the Second Coming, He will rescue the surviving remnant of Jews. All of these Jews will repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus as their Saviour.

The Anti-Christ will come at the beginning of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation and deceive many people, including many Jews, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Many Jews will be convinced, by demonic miracles, that the Anti-Christ is the Messiah who they have been waiting for, Revelation 13:11-17. The Anti-Christ will have many political solutions for the Jews. But, sadly, they have missed the spiritual solution for their sins. Jesus Christ is the only one who can save them from the penalty of their sins, Daniel 8 23-25.

Jesus gives clear instructions in the Scriptures on what will happen before and when He comes back the second time. Jesus also tells when He will come back in relation to other events in prophecy.

Matthew 24:27-30 “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man [Jesus] be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles [buzzards] be gathered together. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man [Jesus] in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man [Jesus] coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Because Jesus is light, He will appear as bright as lightning when He comes back in the Second Coming. Everyone will see Him coming to the Mount of Olives. Jesus will not come in secret and pop up like a Serpent from a pit and say that He is Jesus, the Messiah. Nor will Jesus return in an invisible form as the false Jehovah Witnesses’ say. Do not be deceived by a false Christ, Matthew 24:23-26! Even if someone is doing miracles, this does not make them the real Jesus. If they are doing things contrary to the Scriptures, they are a false Christ, Matthew 24:27.

During the second half of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon will take place. The Battle of Armageddon will begin before the Second Coming of Jesus to the Earth. As a result of this horrifying battle, decaying flesh of humans and beasts of burden will be scattered over the bloody battle field. Some people say that these beasts of burden are really symbolic of modern war equipment, like tanks. That would really be a miracle since birds are called to eat them! Do birds eat metal? No! There will be horses etc. in the Battle of Armageddon. The world can be easily forced to use horses in the Battle of Armageddon if an E.M.P (electromagnetic pulse) destroys all of the electronics. An angel of God will summon eagles (buzzards) to devour the flesh of dead soldiers and their horses, Revelation 16:14-16; Revelation 19:17-21; Matthew 24:28.

Jesus tells us, immediately after the Tribulation the sun will be darkened and the moon shall not give her light. The moon will have an unnatural appearance, according to the prophecy of Joel. We call it a blood moon, Joel 2:30-31. But, it will not be a normal blood moon. It appears that Jesus will reveal the blood moon and other associated events with the Second Coming when He opens the sixth seal during the Tribulation. It appears that the stars will move out of their normal orbit and cause great devastation in the heavens and on Earth, Matthew 24:29.

After the previous events, the Second Coming of Jesus will take place at the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. All of the surviving Jews will see Jesus coming in the clouds, just like the angels promised in Acts 1:9-11. The remaining remnant of Jews will mourn because they will realize that Jesus is the true Messiah who came to save their souls. All of the Gentiles will wail when they see Jesus, who is the Saviour and the Messiah, coming. At that time, when Jesus arrives in the Second Coming, every living Jew will repent of their sins and believe on Jesus Christ to be saved, Romans 11:26; Matthew 24:30.

Zechariah 12:9-10 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.  10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they [Jews] shall look upon me [Jesus] whom they [Jews] have pierced, and they [Jews] shall mourn for him [Jesus], as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him [Jesus], as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he [Jesus] cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him [Jesus], and they also which pierced him [Jesus]: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him [Jesus]. Even so, Amen.”

As noted above, the prophecy of the blood moon and other events that signal the Second Coming of Jesus will take place near the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. We know that the Tribulation will be seven years because of Daniel’s prophecy.

The Anti-Christ will come at the beginning of the Tribulation and make a seven-year, false peace agreement with the Jews and others. This wicked Beast, the Anti-Christ, will deceive many, by miracles, into thinking that he is the long waited for Messiah.

Current events seem to be preparing the way for the Anti-Christ to come on the scene and rescue the world in a false, seven-year peace agreement. Daniel tells us, “he [the Anti-Christ] …by peace shall destroy many”, Daniel 8:25. Those who oppose the Anti-Christ’s peace agreement will face destruction in war waged by him against those in opposition. Those who accept the peace agreement of the Anti-Christ will be doomed and destroyed spiritually if they reject Jesus as their Saviour and accept the Anti-Christ as their Messiah. Either way, the Anti-Christ’s false peace agreement will bring destruction to many people.

The Anti-Christ will also be able to step in and have a solution for the failing or failed, world economy. The economy will be ruined when Jesus, the Lamb opens the third seal in the beginning of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, Revelation 6:5,6. The Anti-Christ will put policies into place that will “cause craft to prosper”.  This does not mean that he will start a sewing circle or join one to make crafts. This means that his policies will cause the economy to prosper. Failing businesses (crafts) and new businesses (crafts) will become a booming success under his financial supervision skills. The Anti-Christ will be a financial genius and a smooth talking peace negotiator, Daniel 8:23-35.

The Jews will rebuild the temple, in the future, and resume their service and sacrifices in the temple to God. In fact, the Temple Institute presently has much of the furniture and other things required for the future temple. They even have the red heifer ready for sacrifice. They are also training people how to serve in the temple.

At the first half of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, the Anti-Christ will not hinder the Jews from serving and sacrificing in the temple. After three and one-half years, the Antichrist will put a stop to sacrifices and oblations to the true God of the Bible, in the rebuilt temple. The things of God in the temple will be replaced by the abominations of the Anti-Christ. He will make the temple desolate of the things of God so that he can deceive the Jews into worshiping him, Matthew 24:15. In Daniel, this time of Tribulation when the Anti-Christ will deceive people is called a week.

Daniel 9:27 “And he [Anti-Christ] shall confirm the covenant with many [Israel and other nations] for one week [seven years]: and in the midst of the week [after three and one-half years] he [Anti-Christ] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he [Anti-Christ] shall make it [the temple] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

This is not a seven day period in Daniel 9:27, but it is a prophetic week where each day represents one year. Therefore, the prophesied Tribulation will be a total of seven years. A week, representing seven years, first appears when Jacob had to work for Laban for one week, representing seven years, before he could marry Rachel, Genesis 29:26-28. The seventy prophetic weeks (70 x 7 = 490 years), including the final week (7 years) was for Israel, not the church. Daniel was told by the angel Gabriel that the prophecy of seventy weeks was for “thy people” [the Jews], Daniel 9:21-24

At the middle of the Tribulation, we can look in the book of Revelation and see that three and one-half years will remain to complete the prophesied seven-year Tribulation.

Revelation 12:6-8 “And the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness, where she [Israel] hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her [Israel] there a thousand two hundred and threescore days [three and one-half years]. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon [Satan]; and the dragon [Satan] fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.”

Presently, Satan is the Prince of the Power of the Air, Ephesians 2:2. In the past, Satan and his evil angels were cast out of Heaven when they first rebelled against God. God put limits, with chains, on Satan and his cohorts as to where they can go. Satan and his evil cohort of angels are like mad dogs on a chain. These evil angels would especially like to devour the Jews, God’s chosen people. These evil angels are in everlasting chains of darkness because they left their first estate. God created them as holy beings, but they chose to sin against God, their creator, 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6.

At the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, Satan will be bound by a great chain and cast into the bottomless pit. He will stay bond there for one thousand years. At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be released to carry out one last rebellion, and then he will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be tormented forever. Revelation 20:1-3. The Anti-Christ, also known as the first Beast, and the False Prophet, also known as the second Beast, will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be tormented at the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, Revelation 13:3-18; Revelation 19:20.

Heaven itself is called the third heaven, 2 Corinthians 12:1-4. Presently, Satan is not allowed to go into Heaven itself, he goes near Heaven into the first and second heaven. Satan was cast out of Heaven when he first rebelled against God, Luke 10:18.

At the middle of the seven-year Tribulation, Satan and his evil cohorts will no longer even be able to come near Heaven. This evil bunch of angels will be bound to the Earth, like prisoners with balls and chains. After the woman, who is Israel, flees into the wilderness and Satan and his fallen angels are cast out of the heavens down to the Earth, there is one thousand, two hundred and sixty days left of the seven-year Tribulation. If you divide 1,260 by 360 prophetic days in a year, you get three and one-half years, Revelation 12:6-17. Satan will be cast to the Earth at the middle of the seven-year Tribulation. Also, the Anti-Christ will break the peace agreement with Israel at the middle of the seven-year peace agreement. The Anti-Christ will strike out at the Jews like a deadly Serpent. God will allow the Anti-Christ to continue forty-two months before he is doomed to the Lake of Fire. This forty-two months is the final three and one-half years of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. This can be determined by dividing 42 months by 12 months in a year which equals three and one-half remaining years of the seven-year Tribulation, Revelation 13:5-8.

For those who study the Scriptures using spiritual discernment, it is apparent that the Tribulation will last seven years. The Anti-Christ will come at the beginning of the Tribulation claiming to be Christ, the Messiah.

But, we know that the true Messiah, Jesus Christ, will arrive in the Second Coming at the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. The blood moon and other events signaling the arrival of Jesus in the Second Coming will happen during the Tribulation, not before. When Jesus, the Lamb, opens the sealed book, it will reveal the Tribulation period. The blood moon and other similar events described in Joel’s prophecy are revealed. This appears to be the event described by Joel to signal the Second Coming of Jesus to Earth.

Revelation 6:12-17 “And I beheld when he [Jesus, the Lamb] had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him [God the Father] that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb [Jesus]: 17 For the great day of his [Jesus] wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

Only God the Father knows when Jesus is going to arrive back on Earth in the Second Coming. If someone claims to have a vision or prophecy about when Jesus is going to come back, they are a false prophet because Jesus said no one but the Father knows when He will return, Matthew 24:36.

The church, consisting of believers, will be caught up before the prophesied seven-year Tribulation takes place. This is known by many as the Rapture, I Thessalonians 4:14-18. The Rapture will result in the church, consisting of believers, meeting Jesus in the air.

But, the Second Coming of Jesus, as described in Joel 2:30-32 and Matthew 24, will happen near the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. In the Second Coming, Jesus will come back and land on the Mount of Olives, where He left from when he ascended to Heaven. This is what the angels told Jesus’ disciples would happen, Acts 1:9-11.

Therefore, it is evident that the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus are two different prophetic events that happen at different times. It is incorrect to call the Rapture the Second Coming of Jesus. Many people confuse these two prophetic events.

Many people use verses from Matthew 24, about the Second Coming, trying to prove that the church will go through the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. These verses were written to Israel, not to the church. Notice that when the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the temple the Jews of Judaea will flee to the mountains and other places for safety, Matthew 24:15-19. Does the church, consisting of believers all over the world, need to go to Judaea and flee from there? No! This time of testing is for the Jews. Also, the church, consisting of believers, will not go to the temple. The temple in Jerusalem will be for the Jews. This is further proof that the prophesied seven-year Tribulation is for the Jews and not for the church. From there, as we read in Revelation 12, the Jews will flee into the wilderness to be protected and nourished by God for three and one-half years. Also, notice that they were told to pray that they did not have to flee on the Sabbath, Saturday. The Sabbath does not apply to the church, Colossians 2:13-17. We worship especially on Sunday, the first day of the week. This honors the resurrection of Jesus, Matthew 28:1-7; Mark 16:9; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2.

There is Scriptural proof that the church, consisting of believers, will not go through the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. Notice that you see the church in Revelation 1-3 on Earth. Then in Revelation 4, after a trumpet is blown, you see the church of believers before the Judgment Seat of Christ. The church is never mentioned in Revelation 6-18. This is because they have been caught up in the air, as described in Thessalonians. The church will not be in the seven-year Tribulation that is described in Revelation 6-18.

The next time we see the church, consisting of believers, being discussed in Revelation, she (the church) is a bride at the marriage, with Jesus, in Heaven, Revelation 19. How did they get there? They were caught up at the Rapture, before the prophesied seven-year Tribulation took place. The Judgment Seat of Christ and the marriage of the church, followed by a marriage supper, take place in Heaven. These events in Heaven happen while the prophesied seven-year Tribulation is taking place on Earth. Then the bride of Christ, the church, follows Jesus, as described by the later half of Revelation 19 and Zechariah 14.

So, in the Rapture, we meet Jesus in the air where we are taken to Heaven. Once we are in Heaven, we will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. After that, we get married as the bride of Christ. In the Second Coming of Jesus, the church, consisting of believers, comes back with Jesus to the Earth. It is apparent that the Rapture is the next prophetic event to take place before the seven-year Tribulation begins. The Second Coming of Jesus will not occur until near the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation.

The most important thing is that you are prepared to meet God at anytime. If you die unprepared, it will be too late for you. You must repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus as your Saviour to escape the torments of Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire. Call on Jesus today in prayer and ask Him to save you, Romans 10:1-13; Acts 2:19-21.

Joel 2:32 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD [Jesus] shall be delivered [saved]: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.”

What happens if someone shows up a few days after the blood moon, in September 2015, claiming he is the Messiah? If the Tribulation has started, this means that you are not saved. You will know that the Tribulation has started if a seven-year peace agreement is made with Israel by this false Messiah, as prophesied by Daniel. You will also know that he is a false Messiah, Christ, because he will be here too early to fulfill the prophesied Second Coming of Christ. Even if he performs miracles, you will know that he is a false Christ. The Anti-Christ could show up very soon claiming to be the fulfillment of the Second Coming of Jesus, as prophesied. Do not be deceived by the coming Anti-Christ. The Second Coming of Jesus is at least seven years away, at the end of the Tribulation. If you already repented and believed on Jesus as your Saviour, you will be caught up in the Rapture / Translation before the Anti-Christ is revealed and before the Tribulation begins, I Thessalonians 2:3-12; I Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Joel 2:30-32 “And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered [saved Acts 2:16-21]: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.”
