Iran is building a long-range Scud missile factory in Syria. These two countries are allies that have a devout hate for the Jews. They would like to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. In the future, Russia, also known as Magog, and Iran/Persia will be allies in a major war against Israel. If Syria is still in existence when this war takes place, it is very likely that they will join in this devilish attack against Israel. All of the nations of the world will gather to fight Israel in the Battle of Armageddon!
Scud Missile Factory
Security experts analyzed photos of the suspected missile factory in Syria. It is apparent that explosives will be stored there. Similarities to missile sites in Iran make it clear that Iran is helping in the construction of these deadly factories. It appears that some of the factories will be used to produce ammunition. Dirt mounds are being used to protect the factory of destruction.
Syria is Israel’s Enemy
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, knows the value of closely monitoring Syria for potential threats. Iran consistently supports Hezbollah terrorists in Syria. Hezbollah is a sworn enemy of Israel.
Syria’s Past Aggression against Israel
Syria does not recognize the nation of Israel as being legitimate. They refuse to honor the passports of Jewish citizens of Israel. Syria has fought three major wars against Israel in the past: the 1948 Arab Israeli War, the Six-Day War in 1967, and the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Of course, we know that Israel had an overwhelming victory in each of these wars. But, Israel cannot afford to turn their back on Syria, as time marches on. Syria is like a mad dog that must be watched and restrained. They are foaming at the mouth to devour Israel.
Syria and Iran Practice Religion of Hate
Most Syrians do not have a free choice to choose their religion. By birth, a majority of them are considered to be Muslims. Even though they are born into the Islam religion, they soon become devout Muslims. According to polls, it appears that around 85% of the population in Syria is Muslim. The Islam religion teaches them to hate the Jewish people of Israel. As children, the Syrians are taught and trained to fight against Israel. Their “holy book,” the Koran, gives instructions for faithful Muslims to kill as many Jews as they can.
Iran is almost 100% Muslim. They have been a long time enemy of Israel. The leader of Iran has often stated publicly his hate for the Jews of Israel. He said that he would like to wipe every Jew off the face of the Earth.
Iran can not be trusted to keep their word. As the deal was being made to control nuclear bomb manufacturing in Iran, many secret nuclear sites were discovered. They had denied their existences. If given the opportunity, Iran will use their weapons of mass destruction against Israel. If they can not attack Israel directly, they will have one of their puppet allies, like Syria, attack Israel.
Russia Supports the Enemies of Israel
The Scud tactical, ballistic missiles being used by Iran and potentially manufactured in Syria, were developed by Russia. Iraq used these long-range missiles to bombard Israel during the 1991 Gulf War.
According to a religious survey in 2012, 58,800,000 or about 41% of the Russian population identify with the Russian Orthodox Church. Even though they falsely claim that they do not believe in salvation by good works, they teach that the righteous work of water baptism washes away their sins. They call water baptism the new birth. Although many Russians claim to belong to the Russian Orthodox Church, many of them do not even believe in the existence of God. Since the majority of them have a false religion or they are atheist, it is no surprise that they would be against Israel.
Israel’s Road to Salvation
Around 75% of Israel’s population follows the religion of Judaism. Of course, we know that this is also a false religion of works for salvation. Thankfully, many Jews are coming to a saving faith through Jesus Christ.
One major difference between the Jews who follow Judaism and the Arabs who follow Islam is that the Jews have the right Bible. They have the truth! In the future, their spiritual eyes will be opened when they see Jesus, Zechariah 12:9, 10. God knows that at the Second Coming of Jesus all of the Jews, present on Earth at that time, will finally receive true salvation through Jesus Christ.
Romans 11:26 “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion [Jerusalem] the Deliverer [Jesus], and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob [Israel]:”
Because of God’s foreknowledge about Israel and His promise to the Jews, God has preserved a Jewish remnant throughout history.
Romans 9:27 “Esaias [Isaiah] also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:”
Unlike the Muslims who surround them, the Jews of Israel tolerate and show compassion to their neighbors of different races and religions. Polls show that 17.5% of the population in the current land of Israel follows the religion of Islam. Most of these Muslims are enemies of the Jews in Israel. Even though these Muslims are treated fairly, as citizens of Israel, many of them plan or assist in attacks on Jewish citizens.
End-time War Against Israel
Ezekiel 38:1-6 “And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog [Russia], the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia [Iran], Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.”
Russia, Iran and Other Enemies Come to Attack Israel
In the past, Russia was known as Magog, as seen in the future war described in Ezekiel 38. Persia changed its name to Iran in 1935. Iran will definitely be in this future war against Israel. Even though Syria is not named as one of the nations fighting in this war against Israel, it is likely that they will also be there. It is said that there are many soldiers from different nations that ally with Russia to attack Israel. Presently, Syria is one of Russia’s allies. In our present days, these allied countries continue to prepare for war against Israel. If Syria is still in existence when this end time war takes place, they will surely join their allies in the attack against Israel.
Russia and their allies may be confident of victory against Israel in this coming war, but their defeat is certain because God will be against them. Their vast army will probably make previous attacks on Israel seem small.
God Fights for Israel
Ezekiel 38:19-22 “For in my [God’s] jealousy and in the fire of my [God’s] wrath have I [God] spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking [earthquake] in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.”
Earthquake in Israel
God will pour the fire of His wrath against the attacking enemies of Israel. The very creation of God will be turned against Russia and their vile allies. Russia and their allies will be gathered like greedy, starving vultures in the land of Israel. The land of Israel will convulse with a violent, shaking earthquake. All of the creatures and men of the Earth will shake with fear because of the mighty power of God. Land slides will level the mountains. Steep places, like cliffs, will fall. Every wall will crumble to the ground.
God’s War Weapons Against Israel’s Enemies
God will turn their own weapons against their fellow soldiers. In confusion, Russia and their allies will fight each other. The soldiers will slay each other with their swords. Plagues of pestilence and blood will be used by God to fight Russia and their allies. An overflowing rain will cause this rebellious army to be washed away in defeat. Rising water will probably drown many of Israel’s enemies. Great hailstones, fire and brimstone will beat Russia and their allies into the ground. They will get a little taste of Hell just before they are cast into it. When God uses His weapons against the enemies of Israel, all hope of victory for Israel’s enemies will be lost. The enemies of Israel are preparing for war against Israel. But, God is always prepared to win any war. Forged weapons of men do not stand a chance against God’s supernatural weapons of war!
Time of Latter Day War
There are many clues in Ezekiel 38 that point to the time of the latter day war that Russia and their allies will wage against Israel. Many of the events mentioned in Ezekiel 38 appear to be the same events mentioned in Revelation 15 and 16.
Jews Safe in Un-walled Villages and no Bars or Gates
Jews certainly are not safe in Israel in our modern times. Threats and attacks are continually hurled at them from their Muslim enemies. Walls in Israel hold back some of their enemies. Gates are used for checkpoints to enter Israel. This filters out potential terrorists, such as suicide bombers. Many things must change before the walls and gates in Israel are taken down. When Jesus rules, the Jews will finally feel completely safe.
The peace agreement that the Anti-Christ makes with Israel and her enemies may lead them to a temporary, false belief of safety. This could lead them to take down the walls and gates.
But, we see that when Russia and their allies attack Israel in the future there will be no walled villages or gates. There will be no bars on the windows or doors of homes and businesses to keep out intruders. The Jews of Israel will feel safe.
Ezekiel 38:11 “And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,”
Wrath
In Ezekiel 38:18, 19, God tells about pouring out His wrath in the latter days against the enemies of Israel. This seems to correlate with the time when the seven last plagues will be poured out by seven angels. The wrath of God will come in many horrific forms against the enemies of Israel.
Revelation 15:1 “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.”
Great Earthquake
In Ezekiel 38:19-20, God tells about a great earthquake that will shake the land of Israel causing devastation everywhere. The whole Earth will tremble with this great earthquake. All the mountains, steep places, and walls will be leveled to the ground.
Unless there is another great earthquake, the same earthquake described in Ezekiel 38 is described in Revelation 16. Just like the earthquake described in Ezekiel 38, every mountain will disappear by being leveled from the earthquake.
This also appears to be the same earthquake that happens when King Jesus puts His feet down on the Mount of Olives, Zechariah 14:1-8. When His feet touch the Mount of Olives, an earthquake will create a big valley. The timing will be perfect. God often uses His holy angels to carry out His work on Earth. It is not hard to believe that the seventh angel will pour out his vial of wrath to cause the great earthquake. It will create a valley in Jerusalem right after Jesus stands on the Mount of Olives.
Revelation 16:18-20 “And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city [Jerusalem] was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.”
Great Hail Around 100 Pounds Each
Ezekiel 38:22 tells us about the great hailstones that will hit the enemies of God on Earth. These hailstones will be like guided missiles from Heaven. Surely, these are the same great hailstones as described about the plague poured out by the seventh angel in Revelation 16.
Revelation 16:21 “And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.”
Pestilence and Blood
In Ezekiel 38:22, God tells how He will use pestilence and blood to plead with the enemies of Israel. Remember, pestilence is another word for plague. The seven angels of Revelation 16 will pour out their vials on Earth causing many plagues. Like the blood judgment in Ezekiel 38, the second and third angel of Revelation 16 will plague the enemies of Israel with blood.
Revelation 16:3-4 “And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.”
Overflowing Rain
Ezekiel 38:22 tells us that God will cause an overflowing rain on the Earth. Rain is also described in relation to the seventh angel of Revelation 16. Just as fire produces smoke, thunder and lightening produces rain. In this case, the seventh vial judgment will produce a plural of thunder and lightening leading to an overflowing rain.
Revelation 16:18 “And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.”
Fire
Ezekiel 38:22 tells how God will use fire against the enemies of Israel. This sounds very much like the fire caused by the vial poured out by the fourth angel in Revelation 16.
Revelation 16:8 “And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.”
Battle of Armageddon
It seems clear that many of the events of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 16 are the same events. More detail is given about some of the events in the correlated chapter. The Battle of Armageddon is described by the sixth angel of Revelation 16. He will allow the enemies of Israel to cross the dry bed of the Euphrates River so they can gather in Israel to fight in the Battle of Armageddon. Like a thief, Jesus will surprise the enemies of God as they are ready to plunder all the riches of Israel.
Revelation 16:15-16 “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
Time of Russia and Allies Attacking Israel
If the events of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 16 are the same events, this means that at least some of Ezekiel 38 will be happening during the Battle of Armageddon. The Battle of Armageddon will be completed on the Day of the Lord. King Jesus will finish the Battle of Armageddon with a great victory for Israel.
Anyone who understands military movement knows that the vast army of Russia and their allies cannot arrive in Israel and set up to battle in one day. Most likely, the Battle of Armageddon will start before the Day of the Lord, allowing time for the enemy armies to prepare their attack. At least, the enemies of God will be drawn beforehand to Israel in time to fight on the Day of the Lord in the Battle of Armageddon.
Jesus will return in His Second Coming immediately after the seven-year Tribulation is over.
Matthew 24:29-30 “Immediately after the tribulation [seven-year Tribulation] of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
King Jesus will arrive in Jerusalem with His angels and saints to fight in the Battle of Armageddon. This will happen on the Day of the Lord, Isaiah 13:6-16; Jeremiah 46:10, 11.
In Jeremiah 46, God tells us that He will have a sacrifice in the North Country by the Euphrates River. If you look due north of Israel, Russia is located there. Russia will be sacrificed as described in Ezekiel 38. Therefore, it appears that the war described in Ezekiel 38 will conclude on the Day of the Lord immediately after the seven-year Tribulation.
King Jesus Makes War in Righteousness
Right after the seven-year Tribulation, King Jesus will bring His armies from Heaven to fight in the Battle of Armageddon. The enemies of Israel will fall in bloody defeat before the KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Victory for Israel is guaranteed at the Battle of Armageddon!
Revelation 19:11-16 “And I [John] saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he [Jesus] that sat upon him was called Faithful [Jesus] and True [Jesus], and in righteousness he [Jesus] doth judge and make war. His [Jesus’] eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his [Jesus’] head were many crowns; and he [Jesus] had a name written, that no man knew, but he [Jesus] himself [Jesus]. And he [Jesus] was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his [Jesus’] name is called The Word of God [Jesus]. And the armies which were in heaven followed him [Jesus] upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his [Jesus’] mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he [Jesus] should smite the nations: and he [Jesus] shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he [Jesus] treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he [Jesus] hath on his [Jesus’] vesture and on his [Jesus’] thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS [Jesus], AND LORD OF LORDS [Jesus].”
