People in search of peace are making plans to escape from the war-torn Earth to Mars. Because of wars, terrorism, and political hostility across the world, many people believe that there will never be peace on Earth. But, the Scriptures promise us that there will be peace on Earth in the Future!
Plans are being made to get the richest people to Mars so that they can live in peace.
“Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have a plan. They will help the richest people in the world go to Mars and start over, leaving the other 99 percent to suffer on a dying, warring planet.” (1)
If God allows the rich people to get to Mars, there will not be any lasting peace on Mars. People fight wars to take the riches of others. Peace flees from the rich because they worry that someone will steal their riches. Often, rich people are not satisfied with what they have. They want more riches. Riches can be the breeding ground for evil deeds! Money and the things that it can buy will not really bring peace. Riches may pay for a home on Mars, but riches will never buy peace for a sinful person.
1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
There are scientists and others who believe that mankind will become extinct if they do not make plans to populate other planets. They believe that wars and other disasters will in time destroy all humans on Earth. Because of the great expense for space travel, only the rich will be able to afford to live on a new planet, according to space travel companies.
“This is the unspoken flip side of Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’s Blue Origin. The space travel companies say they are creating a way for the human species to endure by populating other planets. But the bottom line is that only the wealthy will have the means to move to Mars. Musk’s target ticket price is $500,000 a person in 2015 dollars, and that’s just to get there.” (2)
Scientists are making detailed plans for people to live on Mars in peace.
“At least in some circles, building colonies on Mars has entered the realm of the possible. Some writers and scientists think the first brave souls will make the six-month journey to Mars within 10 years, and that’s Musk’s prediction. Not long after the technology is proven, regular flights of supplies and people will begin. The pioneers will have to build habitable indoor spaces and, later, domed communities. As this year’s hit movie The Martian showed us, once on Mars it’s possible to grow food, make breathable air and harvest energy from solar panels. Musk calls Mars ‘a fixer-upper of a planet,’ but by 2040, he says, there should be a thriving colonial Martian town.” (3)
Jesus was born as a baby. He lived a sinless life. Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Jesus is the only one who can bring peace to a sinner’s soul. In the future, King Jesus will bring peace on Earth for one-thousand years. Jewish people will no longer have to fear being attacked by their enemies.
Isaiah 66:10-13 “Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: 11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. 12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. 13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”
All Gentiles should rejoice because Jesus will rescue a Jewish remnant in the future. These Jewish believers will finally live in peace on the Promised Land, Israel. These Jews will have children that will not fear being attacked by terrorists, Isaiah 66:10.
Those born again Gentiles who love Jews will be blessed because of their support for the Jews. Money cannot bring satisfaction, but King Jesus can bring satisfaction to the hungry soul. Jesus will console this war-torn people. Believing Gentiles who love Jews will be comforted by peace. Just like a baby with a full stomach of milk, Gentiles who honor the Jews will be delighted, Isaiah 66:11.
God, through the person of Jesus, will extend peace to the Jews of Israel. Just like a river has an abundance of water, peace will continually flow to Israel. Those Gentiles who love the Jews will have peace flowing to them like a stream. Streams often flow from rivers. In this case, peace will flow to the Gentiles because of the abundant river of peace for the Jews. The Jews will treat those Gentiles who love them like a mother treats her baby with love. Just as a baby laughs with joy when his mother bounces him on her knees, the Gentiles will laugh with joy because of the blessings flowing from the Jews to them. Gentiles should have a great love for Jews because Jesus was born Jewish, according to the flesh. Also, Jews wrote down the inspired Scriptures so that Gentiles could read and hear them, allowing them to be saved. Gentiles truly owe a debt to the Jews, Isaiah 66:12.
Scientists believe that there will never be any lasting peace on this Earth. This is why they are making plans to find peace on other planets, including Mars. But, the Prince of Peace, Jesus will bring peace and comfort to all believing Jews and Gentiles on Earth. The Jewish remnant will get the Promised Land, as promised to Abraham. They will finally enjoy their land without fear of being attacked, Isaiah 66:13.
Isaiah 9:6-7 “For unto us a child [Jesus] is born, unto us a son [Jesus] is given: and the government shall be upon his [Jesus’] shoulder: and his [Jesus’] name shall be called Wonderful [Jesus], Counseller [Jesus], The mighty God [Jesus], The everlasting Father [Jesus], The Prince of Peace [Jesus]. 7 Of the increase of his [Jesus’] government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his [Jesus’] kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
Jesus was the promised Son that was born in Bethlehem. There will be peace world-wide because he will rule supreme. He will be called Wonderful because He saved us from our sins when we could not save ourselves. Jesus is wonderful because He will bring true lasting peace. All other governments will fail to bring lasting peace like Jesus will. Jesus will be called Counseller when He reigns on Earth. His counsel will always be dependable. Jesus will never lead anyone astray. Jesus will be able to rule the Earth in peace because He is the mighty God. He has the power to bring peace and maintain it. Jesus is the everlasting Father incarnate in the flesh. Jesus is not one of three Gods, but He is one person of the triune God. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The Anti-Christ will deceive many Jews and Gentiles with false peace during the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. But, Jesus will bring eternal peace to all true believers, Isaiah 9:6.
The governments of men are often decreased by corruption. But, the government of King Jesus will increase. Peace will reach across the world to embrace all of those who repent of their sins and accept Jesus as Saviour. All the judgments of Jesus will be right, and justice will be to all mankind. We can be certain that peace on Earth will happen in the future because God has promised it, and He will perform it, Isaiah 9:7.
It is not very likely that mankind in his natural, sinful state will ever populate other planets. The Scriptures tell us how that Jesus loved the people of this world and died for their sins, Isaiah 53; John 3:16. Salvation was not promised to people on other planets. Since all people are sinners, we need to accept God’s plan for peace. Only Jesus can bring peace to a sinful, war-torn soul.
John 14:1-6 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me [Jesus]. 2 In my [Jesus’] Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I [Jesus] would have told you. I [Jesus] go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I [Jesus] go and prepare a place for you, I [Jesus] will come again, and receive you unto myself [Jesus]; that where I [Jesus] am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I [Jesus] go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him [Jesus], Lord, we know not whither thou [Jesus] goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I [Jesus] am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me [Jesus].”
You can go to the far corners of the Earth to find Peace. Peace will not be there! You can go to a deserted island. Peace will not be there! You can go to Mars to find peace. Peace will not be there. But, if you repent of your sins and believe on Jesus as your Saviour, Jesus will bring peace to you wherever you are. Invite Jesus into your life today by calling on Him in a sinner’s prayer, Luke 18:10-14; Romans 10:9-13.
Peace cannot be gained by escaping to Mars!
