Many “Christians” believe that God will not keep His covenant with Israel regarding the Promised Land! The Palestinian Christians at the Christ at the Checkpoint conference claim to love the Jews, but yet they declared that the Jews have no guaranteed right to the land in Israel! Their claim of love for the Jews of Israel is very questionable, considering all of the poisonous talk against them at their 2014 conference and at the previous conferences. The speakers and writers at the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences laced their statements with anti-Israel poison trying to press the Jews to compromise and accept a two-state solution of “false peace” with the Palestinians.

I read a sly, twisted lecture by Stephen Sizer who was a speaker at the 2010 Christ at the Checkpoint conference. As I began to read, I felt like I was traveling across the hot, dry sands of the Arabian Desert! Sizer popped up from behind the sand dunes and hurled deadly doctrinal daggers at me! He was using the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. My lips were parched, but I was revived when I opened the life-giving pages of my inspired King James Bible. I swung my sword, the true Word of God, and held back those deadly daggers! As I read on, I noticed poisonous lies being hurled at Israel and at those who stand behind Israel. Again, I took out my sword to defend the truth about Israel! While reading, I thought I saw some human skulls lying in the hot desert sands of Sizer’s lecture. No doubt, it was probably some people who were struck by Sizer’s deadly doctrinal daggers before I came along. They failed to see Sizer’s doctrinal traps because they lacked spiritual discernment. Reader, I caution you about reading or listening to people like Sizer. He is hiding deadly, doctrinal daggers, hoping to throw them into your mind and heart. Sizer will inform you that He has a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Using smooth, comforting words, he will encourage you to trust him to operate on your soul. He is the enemy of the unlearned and the person who lacks spiritual discernment. The following is a quote from Stephen Sizer’s anti-Semitic lecture at Christ at the Checkpoint!

His lecture is titled: “Israel and the Church: Who are God’s Chosen People?” Here is the quote: “The Bible does not warrant a racial exclusivity giving any race preferential or elevated status in God’s kingdom.” (16) His statement seems politically correct in our times, but it is Scripturally wrong, as I will show you in the following commentary.

The following article was written by Ron Cantor on March 13, 2014. It reaffirms that Sizer, who pretends to be a friend to the Messianic Jews, really thinks that they are an abomination!

“Several years ago, Dr. Stephen Sizer said, ‘There are certainly churches in Israel/Palestine that side with the occupation [of the West Bank, Gaza and Golan Heights], that side with Zionism. One of my burdens is to challenge them theologically and show that they’ve repudiated Jesus, they’ve repudiated the Bible, and they are an abomination.’
Sizer made this pronouncement at the same time that he was expressing his desire for friendship and dialogue with Messianic Jews in Israel. Sizer has a habit of trashing Israel in one venue (like when he is speaking to Islamic leaders) and then oozing love toward us in another.” (17)

Gary Burge is a Professor of New Testament at Wheaton College, in Wheaton, IL. He was one of many liberal speakers at the Christ at the Checkpoint 2014 conference. He has a doctor’s degree in New Testament. This conference was laced with ecumenical poison. No doubt, Burge felt right at home. He sees no problem being unequally yoked with nonbelievers. The liberal speakers at the conference ranged from Muslims to Christians. They take no heed to the Scripture that tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. Burge is involved with many interfaith dialogue groups including both Muslims and Jews. It does not seem to bother these liberals to fellowship with heathens who have never had a personal salvation experience with Jesus. Their gospel message seems to lean away from using their mouth for personal evangelism. They tend to carry a social and political salvation message. Naturally, if we can, we should help people in those areas, but that should be secondary to soul winning! If you want the “good doctor” to carve your child’s brain, soul, and spirit up spiritually, send them to Wheaton College in Illinois! He will use the same NIV Bible that his cohort Sizer uses. If your child goes there with faith, he will probably come home with a dried up soul like this liberal, ecumenical bunch at Bethlehem Bible College, Christ at the Checkpoint! But, your child may come home as a drunkard because they tell you that it is okay to be a social drinker, according to the Bible. Instead of going to church with you, your child may want to go out to a night club! This is because instead of learning music that has a pleasing melody to honor the Lord, your child has been under the beat of a native drum! Also, the night club will give your child the chance to dance with the girls. It will make him feel like he is back in college, since they have dances there at their Bible College! Oh! And, your child will probably be smarter than you and your old fashioned Bible believing grandmother! Your child will tell you that Jesus is not coming back to translate the church, as you believe. Instead, all people must work for peace so that Jesus can come and set up His kingdom. Your child will tell you it is no longer up to Jesus to bring peace by Him first going to war with the gentile nations. Your child has become a liberal, skeptical, ecumenical, intellect! These are the type of people who are misguiding our youth, the church, and America! They are turning people against God’s chosen people, the Jews, and God will come to bring a curse on those who oppose Israel, Genesis 12:3. Your children would be better off if they never go to college if it is going to steal their childlike faith away! The following verses describe the kind of people who sponsor and speak at Christ at the Checkpoint conferences.

Jude 1:10-12 “But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;”

It is apparent that many of those at the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences would like the Jews to leave and give all of the land to the Palestinians. They wrote up a Manifesto to express their beliefs and desires. As noted below, points three and five of their 2014 Manifesto declare that the Jews do not have a guaranteed claim on the land, according to the Bible! Stephen Sizer had a big part in developing the Christ at the Checkpoint Manifesto!

The Christ at the Checkpoint Manifesto
The Kingdom of God has come. Evangelicals must reclaim the prophetic role in bringing peace, justice and reconciliation in Palestine and Israel.
  1. Reconciliation recognizes God’s image in one another.
  2. Racial ethnicity alone does not guarantee the benefits of the Abrahamic Covenant.
  3. The Church in the land of the Holy One, has born witness to Christ since the days of Pentecost. It must be empowered to continue to be light and salt in the region, if there is to be hope in the midst of conflict.
  4. Any exclusive claim to land of the Bible in the name of God is not in line with the teaching of Scripture.
  5. All forms of violence must be refuted unequivocally.
  6. Palestinian Christians must not lose the capacity to self-criticism if they wish to remain prophetic.
  7. There are real injustices taking place in the Palestinian territories and the suffering of the Palestinian people can no longer be ignored. Any solution must respect the equity and rights of Israel and Palestinian communities.
  8. For Palestinian Christians, the occupation is the core issue of the conflict.
  9. Any challenge of the injustices taking place in the Holy Land must be done in Christian love. Criticism of Israel and the occupation cannot be confused with anti-Semitism and the delegitimization of the State of Israel.
  10. Respectful dialogue between Palestinian and Messianic believers must continue. Though we may disagree on secondary matters of theology, the Gospel of Jesus and his ethical teaching take precedence.
  11. Christians must understand the global context for the rise of extremist Islam. We challenge stereotyping of all faith forms that betray God’s commandment to love our neighbors and enemies.” (18)

There are many flaws in their Manifesto. But, there is one main flaw. This anti-Semitic false teaching, displayed in their Manifesto, is endorsed and pushed by the Christ at the Checkpoint group. It is called Replacement Theology. It teaches that the church has replaced Israel in God’s favor. Replacement Theology basically teaches that Israel, as a race, is no longer God’s chosen people, and they have forfeited, through rebellion, any promises made to them by God in the Old Testament. Those who endorse Replacement Theology believe that any special purpose or plan that God had for Israel was spoiled forever by their constant rebellion. Also, according to Replacement Theology, Jews are not guaranteed any special ownership rights to the land in Israel. Many of those at the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences do not like the name Replacement Theology. They prefer to call it some other name. But, the truth is, a rose by any other name is still a rose! There may be some variations on Replacement Theology, but it is still Replacement Theology. They believe that if any thing good comes out of Israel in the future it will only be because they have been helped by the gentiles in the church! It appears that the tail is trying to wag the head. Without Israel, the church would not exist.

All Christians are obligated to stand on the side of Israel. But, many churches and Christians are standing against Israel. You might be thinking, “Who am I to dispute the words of educated pastors and leaders at the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences or maybe even at the church you attend?” My friend, if you are a Christian, God has given you the ministry of reconciliation and you are an ambassador representing Heaven!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

No Christian should blindly follow those who profess to be wise. It is the obligation of each and every Christian to study God’s Word and pray for spiritual discernment.

Romans 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” 2 Timothy 2:15-16 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.”

Together, we will study the errors of Replacement Theology in light of the Scriptures. Before we start, I want to warn you of the wolves who want to steal your blessing by getting you to turn against Israel. The Word of God is like a fire, but when those sly, wolfish doctors of theology get through devouring God’s Word, it is like smoke blowing in the wind. Through their puffed up ego they spiritualize, symbolize and allegorize the Word of God until it drifts away on the winds of disbelief! When these liberal theologians get through with God’s Word, it is floating aimlessly about in a scrambled, indiscernible, gaseous form. Even a Native American Indian who worships the sun and the clouds would not be offended by it! Just as the Serpent deceived Eve in the garden, the Devil is coiling around the minds and souls of many liberal theologians, squeezing the Word of God out. In other words, unless a portion of God’s Word is clearly symbolic, God means for you to take it as being literal, the real thing. Those at the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences have become part of the problem in the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. They are not part of the solution because of their unbiblical approach and because of their prejudice speeches and actions against Israel! Next, we will look at several things that are related to God’s solution in the Israeli and Palestinian conflict!

Next time, read God’s Covenant With Israel! We will see that God gave Abraham and his physical seed an everlasting promise regarding the land in Israel. God promised Abraham that the land in Israel would be theirs forever! Replacement Theology teaches that this promise from God concerning the land of Israel is no longer valid because of the Israelite’s rebellion. They claim that the promises of God for Israel now apply to the church instead. Click on the following short link to read the next editorial, “God’s Covenant With Israel!”
