The solar eclipse on August 21st, 2017 is not the solar eclipse that is connected to the Second Coming in the Bible. A solar eclipse and a Blood Moon will precede the Second Coming of Jesus back to the Earth.
Matthew 24 and other Scriptures tell about a solar eclipse and a blood moon preceding the Second Coming of Jesus.
Matthew 24:29-30 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened [solar eclipse], and the moon shall not give her light [blood Moon], and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man [Jesus] in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming [Second Coming of Jesus] in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Immediately after the seven-year Tribulation the Sun will be darkened and the Moon will not give her light. It appears that the Sun will be darkened by a solar eclipse immediately after the seven-year Tribulation. Since the prophesied seven-year Tribulation has not even started, it is not possible that the solar eclipse in 2017 is the solar eclipse described in Matthew 24. Jesus will return to Earth in His Second Coming after the Great Tribulation related to the Abomination of Desolation. The Abomination of Desolation will take place during the second half of the seven-year Tribulation.
Matthew 24:15 “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”
The prophet Daniel wrote about the Abomination of Desolation that will take place in the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem. When the Abomination of Desolation takes place, the first three and one half years of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation will already be past. The Temple in Jerusalem has not even been built back yet. Since the Temple has not been built back in Jerusalem, it is impossible for the Abomination of Desolation to take place in 2017.
Matthew 24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
When the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the Temple, the Great Tribulation will take place. The first three and one-half years of the seven-year Tribulation will be a time of Tribulation/trouble for the Earth, but the second three and one-half years of the seven-year Tribulation will be the Great Tribulation.
The Rapture of the Church must take place before the prophesied seven-year Tribulation begins. The solar eclipse is not related to the Rapture of the Church. But, immediately after the seven-year Tribulation is over, there will be a solar eclipse just before the Second Coming of Jesus back to the Earth.
It is interesting that there is going to be a solar eclipse that can be seen in the United States seven years from the one in 2017. The next solar eclipse in the United States will take place in 2024.
Even though the solar eclipse in 2017 is not the solar eclipse connected to the Second Coming of Jesus, it is a reminder that Jesus is coming to judge the Earth in the future. If you die without repenting and believing on Jesus as your Saviour, you will face the terrible place of Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire. We encourage each and every person to make sure that they do not face the coming wrath of King Jesus. Call on Jesus in a sinner’s prayer today and ask Him to save you from the penalty of your sins. We would be happy to hear about your salvation.
