If the third Temple is the last Temple before the true Messiah returns, the Anti-Christ will take control of the third Temple in Jerusalem after it is built. The Anti-Christ will be accepted by many Jews as their long waited for Messiah. The Temple Institute in Jerusalem is currently holding a campaign to raise funds to draft plans to build the third Temple. But, if the third Temple is the final Temple built before the Second Coming of Jesus, the true Messiah, Jesus, will build the fourth and final Temple in Jerusalem, during His thousand-year reign on Earth.
The Temple Institute has been warned by many Bible scholars that the third Temple could be the one that is misused and defiled by the Anti-Christ during the prophesied seven-year Tribulation.
Those at the Temple Institute who are planning to build the third Temple say the Temple “will be a ‘house of prayer for all nations’ and will usher in ‘a new era of universal harmony and peace’, as prophesied in the Bible.” (1)
The Anti-Christ will fulfill the Jews desire for peace for a short time. He will make a seven-year false peace agreement between the Jews and their enemies.
Daniel 9:27 “And he [the Anti-Christ] shall confirm the covenant [false peace agreement] with many [Jews and Gentiles] for one week [seven years]: and in the midst of the week [after three and one-half years] he [the Anti-Christ] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease [offering to God will cease by the command of the Anti-Christ], and for the overspreading of abominations [Temple will be defiled] he [the Anti-Christ] shall make it [the Temple] desolate [things of God will be removed from Temple], even until the consummation [Jesus, the true Messiah, will destroy the Anti-Christ and the defiled Temple when He comes back], and that determined [God has a plan for the Anti-Christ and the defiled Temple] shall be poured upon the desolate.”
Many of the Jews will mistakenly put their confidence in the smooth talking Anti-Christ to protect them and bring peace to the Jews and Israel. The Jews will put their confidence in the Anti-Christ because the Anti-Christ will deceive them into thinking that he is the true Messiah, who the Jews have been waiting for. For three and one-half years, it will finally look like Israel will live in peace. But, then the Jews will recognize that the Anti-Christ is a false Messiah when he takes up residence in the Temple and proclaims that he is God. The Anti-Christ will demand that all prayers be directed to him, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Matthew 24:15. When the Jews refuse to worship the Anti-Christ, he will turn on them like a mad Wolf! The peace that the Jews have hoped and prayed for so long will vanish like a passing wind storm. The Jews will face the Great Tribulation during the second half of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation, Matthew 24:16-21; Revelation 12:12-17. Their plans for peace, based on the Temple being built, will be destroyed.
Daniel 8:23-25 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king [the Anti-Christ] of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24 And his [the Anti-Christ’s] power shall be mighty, but not by his [the Anti-Christ’s] own power [Satan will give the Anti-Christ power]: and he [the Anti-Christ] shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people [the Jews]. 25 And through his [the Anti-Christ’s] policy also he [the Anti-Christ] shall cause craft to prosper in his[the Anti-Christ’s] hand; and he [the Anti-Christ] shall magnify himself [the Anti-Christ] in his [the Anti-Christ’s] heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he [the Anti-Christ] shall also stand up against the Prince of princes [King Jesus]; but he [the Anti-Christ]shall be broken without hand [The Anti-Christ will be defeated by Jesus, and he will be cast into the Lake of Fire].”
It is very possible that the third Temple is the final Temple before Jesus returns in His Second Coming. If that is the case and the Temple Institute carries through with their plans to build and furnish the third Temple with the Biblical vessels and other furnishings, the Anti-Christ will cast anything that they make, pertaining to worshiping God, out of the third Temple. The Anti-Christ will make the Temple desolate of the things of God in the middle of the prophesied seven-year peace agreement. The Anti-Christ will defile the Temple with abominations for the purpose of getting the Jews to worship him as God. At that time, the Jews will reject the Anti-Christ as their Messiah. In his anger, the Anti-Christ will try to destroy all of the Jews. Two-thirds of the Jews, living at that time, will be killed in the Battle of Armageddon. This war, aimed at destroying the Jews, will be backed by the power of Satan.
Zechariah 13:8-9 “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die [two thirds of all Jews will be killed]; but the third [one third of the Jews will survive the Battle of Armageddon] shall be left therein. 9 And I [Jesus] will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them [the Jews] as silver is refined, and will try them [the Jews] as gold is tried: they [the Jews] shall call on my name [Jesus], and I will hear them [the Jews]: I [Jesus] will say, It is my people [the Jews]: and they [the Jews] shall say, The LORD is my God.”
God will protect the remnant of Jews. When the Jews see Jesus return, near the end of the Battle of Armageddon, every Jew alive will be saved, Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26. Near the end of the Tribulation, Jesus, the true Messiah will come back and destroy the defiled Temple and cast the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet into the Lake of Fire. Satan, the leader of these two evil cohorts, will be bound for one thousand years. Any Temple built before Jesus returns in the Second Coming will be destroyed.
Considering events that are happening in the world, it appears that the third Temple will be the one ruled by the Anti-Christ before Jesus, the true Messiah, returns to rescue the Jews. Jesus, the true Messiah of the Jews, will build the fourth and final Temple at the end of the prophesied seven-year Tribulation.
Zechariah 6:12-13 “And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH [Jesus]; and he [Jesus] shall grow up out of his [Jesus’] place, and he [Jesus] shall build the temple of the LORD: 13 Even he [Jesus] shall build the temple of the LORD; and he [Jesus] shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his [Jesus’] throne; and he [Jesus] shall be a priest upon his [Jesus’] throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”
According to prophecy, Jesus, who is called the Branch (Isaiah 11:1; Jeremiah 23:5; Jeremiah 33:15), will build the final Temple. Jesus, according to the flesh, is from the roots of King David, the son of Jesse. You can read about the details of the Temple that Jesus, the Branch, will build in Ezekiel chapters 40-48. Since we know that Jesus has not come back to Earth yet, the plans being designed by the Temple Institute for building the third Temple are not the plans that God has for building His Temple. Also, we know from prophecy that there will be a Temple that is controlled by the Anti-Christ. This defiled Temple appears to be the third Temple that the Temple Institute has in the planning stages. When Jesus, the Branch, builds the final Temple in Jerusalem, King Jesus will rule all nations from the Temple in Jerusalem, Zechariah 6:13; Ezekiel 43:7. Jesus will also be the High Priest in the Temple, Zechariah 6:13; Hebrews 9:11-12. Not only will Jesus be the High Priest, Jesus will proclaim to the world that He gave Himself as the only sacrifice that can take away the sins of the Jews. Only Jesus, the true Messiah, can bring peace to the sinful Jews and Gentiles of the world. The saving power of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross is made available to all Jews and Gentiles, Hebrews 7:25-27; Isaiah 53.
Many Jews, like the disciples of Jesus, are looking for a political peace, Acts 1:6-8. The third Temple will not bring true, lasting peace to the nation of Israel. What all Jews really need is a spiritual peace that only Jesus can bring to their war-torn, sinful souls, John 14:1-6, 27; John 16:33. Sadly, many Jews are putting their eternal confidence in a Temple that will be destroyed. It is time to put full confidence in the work that Jesus accomplished on the cross to pay for all of your sins, 1 Corinthians 15:1-6.
It is time to acknowledge that you are a sinner who cannot save yourself by your own good deeds.
Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD [Jesus] hath laid on him [Jesus] the iniquity of us all.”
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
It is time to acknowledge that sin must be judged. If you are judged for your own sins, it means everlasting punishment in the torments of Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire. But, Jesus was judged for your sins. You need to accept the fact that Jesus took all of the judgment for your sins. You cannot satisfy God with your offerings for sin.
Isaiah 53:12 “Therefore will I divide him [Jesus] a portion with the great, and he [Jesus] shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he [Jesus] hath poured out his [Jesus’] soul unto death: and he [Jesus] was numbered with the transgressors; and he [Jesus] bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”
It is time to acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of your sins. Only Jesus can bring eternal peace to your troubled Hell-bound soul. The sacrifice of Jesus is the only offering that God will accept to save you from the penalty of your sins.
Isaiah 52:14 “As many were astonied at thee; his [Jesus’] visage was so marred more than any man, and his [Jesus’] form more than the sons of men:”
Isaiah 53:4-5 “Surely he [Jesus] hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him [Jesus] stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, he [Jesus] was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him [Jesus]; and with his [Jesus’] stripes we are healed [saved].”
Repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. The prayers of the proud will be rejected by God. Call on Jesus today in a sinner’s prayer, and ask Him to have mercy on you and save your soul, Luke 18:9-14! Jesus wants to save you today. After death, all opportunities to be saved will be gone.
Isaiah 55:6-7 “Seek ye the LORD [Jesus] while he [Jesus] may be found, call ye upon him [Jesus] while he [Jesus] is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD [Jesus], and he [Jesus] will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he [Jesus] will abundantly pardon.”
