There will not be any lasting safety in Israel until the Messiah rules. The Palestinian Christians at the Christ At The Checkpoint Conference may not like walls but there have been walls in the past and there will be walls in the future.

The walls at Jericho were built to protect the citizens of Jericho from attacks. But, when the walls of Jericho fell down, most of the people inside died. No doubt, the walls were sometimes inconvenient, but they served a purpose to protect the citizens inside. Walls will protect us from our enemies, but if we cause God to turn against us, even the walls will not save us! Of course, the best protection is to have the blood of Jesus protecting you. Before the walls fell, Rahab hung a scarlet thread out her window on the wall. Even though the wall could not save her, the scarlet thread represented the blood of Jesus that would save her life and eternal soul. God wants us to use good judgment and caution to protect ourselves, but when all else fails, He can protect us from our enemies.

Joshua 2:18-19 “Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee. 19 And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.”

It appears that these modern times are not the first time when the Jews built walls which upset their enemies. The enemies of the Jews mockingly said that the foxes could break down the walls at Jerusalem, in the days of Nehemiah. Some Palestinian human foxes are getting over the walls in present day Israel, but there are safety nets set up by the Israeli army throughout Israel to catch them. Just as God stood with Nehemiah and his crew when they built the walls, He is protecting modern day Israel. The Christians at the Christ At The Checkpoint conference should be happy about the walls in Israel. They keep many people, including the Palestinians, safe from terrorists. I do understand that human governments are made up of fallible people who can make mistakes and who will sometimes do wrong on purpose. Those in charge in Israel need to supervise carefully and make sure everyone is being treated as fairly as possible, considering the threatening circumstances. It could be easy to become callus toward those who are really trying to get along. The young and inexperienced soldiers may fail to treat people with respect, when possible. There is nothing wrong with a kind smile and a thank you for those who obey the rules of safety. With that said, I do understand that the IDF soldiers cannot afford to let down their guard because of constant terrorist threats! Much of the problem would be solved if the Palestinians quit sending the Palestinian foxes to attack the wall! The Palestinian president needs to put a stop to his people attacking Israel! How do you expect Israel to respond, considering the constant attacks? I received information from someone in Israel who said that during the 2014 Christ at the Checkpoint conference, rockets fired into Israel increased during the week of the conference. If you Palestinian Christians love Israel so much, why was this not mentioned? Your messages seem to be all about your comfort. No doubt, the constant attacks on Israel make them suspect everyone to be a potential threat. When Moses and all of Israel were slaves in Egypt, I did not read about them making attacks against the Egyptians. Moses did, but he had to leave for some training in the desert, as a result of his actions! When it was time for Israel to be freed, God did the work to free them by using plagues against Egypt. Those who are right and serve the God of the Bible must leave the victory up to God! Yes, sometimes it is time to fight, but if you choose to fight with the wrong people or at the wrong time, you may be fighting against God! Little Palestinian foxes, guess who is going to lose!

Nehemiah 4:3, 7-15 “Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall. 7 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. 9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them. 10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. 11 And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease. 12 And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you. 13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows. 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. 15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.”

The apartheid in South Africa was unjust, based on a hate for people because of the color of their skin. Even though Israel is doing some similar things like the apartheid of South Africa, their actions are based on safety, which even includes protection for the Palestinians. Yes, maybe things could be better. But, it is time for the Palestinians to get their own house in order before throwing rocks at the Jews. Palestinians, you are living in a glass house filled with militant terrorists! They are blowing your house up! Also, you have a president who is either too weak to control the terrorists or he is in favor of blowing up your children, in the name of religion. It is time to close down the death camps which train innocent children to hate and destroy themselves and the Jews! It appears that the Palestinians are the ones who are apartheid in their actions. They use their own people for shields so they can move them six feet under ground! Friend, this is a permanent relocation, which no law can correct!

The Israel Defense Force is working hard to make a bad situation good. They are trying to treat people fairly and with compassion. But, at the same time, they must be on guard for enemy strikes and terrorism. Only a fool lets a fox in the hen house! The Jews are not the villains at the checkpoints. They are the victims of those who hate them. The following article and video express the efforts of the IDF to treat those crossing the border into Jerusalem in a humane and friendly manner. The IDF treats the Palestinians much better than the Palestinian terrorist groups do! These IDF soldiers deserve a lot of credit and praise for doing such a hard job with as much compassion as possible. They constantly train to improve the border crossings for everyone. Everyone needs to let these faithful IDF soldiers know that they are loved and appreciated.

“Messianic Officer Sets Checkpoint Record Straight

While Palestinian Christians obsessively complain about the so-called ‘atrocities suffered at the checkpoints,’ Captain Joshua Lazarus (pictured), the Messianic Jewish officer in charge of training guards for the checkpoints, gives the real story in a short new video clip produced by the IDF. (See below)

Captain Lazarus oversees the training of all the soldiers responsible for guarding the border crossings and roadblocks along the Arab towns and villages surrounding Jerusalem.

Every day, tens of thousands of men, women and children pass through the checkpoints and road blocks guarded by Lazarus’ soldiers. ‘Most of them are on their way to work, or visiting friends or family, or buying groceries,’ he says in private remarks to Israel Today. ‘There are pregnant women rushing up to the hospital in Jerusalem, and angry taxi drivers trying to make some money. We have to deal with Palestinian Authority officials, UN diplomats, international media, donkeys, farmers, just about everything and anything passes through here.’

These crossings are a microcosm of all that is good, bad, and unfathomable in the lives of East Jerusalem’s Arabs, and it all passes daily under the alert and formidable gaze of Captain Lazarus’ soldiers.

‘We’re trying to weed out any terrorists,’ Lazarus explains. ‘Since Israel built the security wall, these checkpoints are now the main targets for potential terrorists trying to get through unnoticed amongst the hundreds of people passing through every day. We have to check each and every one. A lot of them are angry and try to push through without being checked. It’s a tough job.’

Some believe that the constant friction between the soldiers and Palestinians at these roadblocks causes more agitation, hatred and even terrorism in the long run. ‘Sure, the people get angry at us, and sometimes it gets pretty rough,’ says Lazarus. ‘But what alternatives do we have? How else can we stop the bombs and terrorists? Sometimes we just have to put up with a bad situation because it could be worse. It’s our job.’

‘It is a tense and complicated situation for these young soldiers. This is why I wanted to be an officer in the first place,’ says the young captain. ‘A lot of my friends went to be paratroopers or air force pilots,’ Lazarus continues. ‘For me, this is a really important job. We are dealing with a huge problem here, and nobody knows how to fix it. Not many soldiers want to do this job. Everyday I need to remind them about how important their job is. I’ve come to realize that we don’t live in a world where everything goes the way you want,’ he says. ‘Serving here wakes me up to the harsh realities of life in Israel and just how complicated it can be.’

Israel turns 66 this month and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting an early retirement from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Peace talks are going nowhere, again. Whatever the future holds, getting to know Messianic Captain Joshua Lazarus and some of his soldiers out there on the checkpoints has given this old man, at least, something to be proud of.
