Israel has suffered loss of peace, safety and lives due to the deadly rockets launched by Hamas into Israel. The cost of freedom has been high for both America and Israel.

The Star-Spangled Banner “O say can you see by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there; O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?” (1)

American Flag with Fireworks

Star-Spangled Banner!

The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem of the United States. It was first written as a poem about victory over an enemy of the United States, at that time. Later it was put to music and adopted as our national anthem. It is often sung during our celebrated day of independence as a country, on the Fourth of July! In the past, we have understood that often we were required to fight our enemies if we wanted to be free from them. But, it seems like we have become complacent about the price of peace and freedom. On the Fourth of July, we sing songs about freedom, have patriotic parades, and shoot rockets into the sky to light it with bright colors that dazzle the eyes. This is often preceded by a picnic and fun and games. I went to a fireworks show this last Fourth of July. It truly was beautiful. It has been many years since America has had deadly rockets exploding in our land. We can be truly thankful to God for putting a protecting hand around us. Since Israel became a nation in 1948, it has not enjoyed the liberty that America has been blessed with. Because Israel is our friend, we should want them to enjoy the same freedom and peace that America does!

On September 11th 2001, America faced the grim reality of a terrorist war. The glamorous illusions of picnics, parades and Fourth of July fireworks were blurred by tears because of the deadly loss of innocent American citizens. Four of our passenger planes were hijacked and used like rockets to murder the innocent and destroy around 10 billion dollars worth of property. Suicidal Arab, al-Qaeda terrorists turned our instruments of peace into instruments of war. Two of the planes exploded with deadly force into the Twin Towers. Another plane exploded when it hit the Pentagon. A fourth hijacked plane was forced to crash in a field when the brave American passengers overpowered the murderous hijackers. Close to 3,000 innocent civilians went into eternity on that sad day. This disastrous event of 911 called America to arms, and we sought this murderous terrorist group. Many of them were killed and others were brought to justice!

It is never the desire of properly spiritually minded people to see innocent civilians killed in war. America has often fought in wars that resulted in multitudes of innocent civilians being killed. During World War II, American bombers dropped bombs on several Japanese cities. As a result, 350,000–500,000 Japanese civilians were killed. It appears that this was not a desirable action, but it was required to stop Japan’s aggression against the world. Of course, one of the key points in this deadly war was the slaughter of around six million innocent Jews. Satan used Hitler and other evil men in hopes of wiping the Jews off the face of the earth. It is always Satan’s goal to interrupt God’s plan for the people and nation of Israel. No doubt, many of the Japanese civilians were innocent victims of war. But, many of them supported their government and would have killed as many Americans as possible. An estimated 11 to 17 million civilians died as a result of Nazi ideological policies. In the case of Hitler, the murder of innocent civilians was unjust. He was on an ego trip to rule the world as a dictator. Unlike Israel, Hitler placed no value on human life! You can not reason with a mad dog like Hitler. The only choice is to put a mad dog like Hitler down for good!

Israel’s War For Freedom Is Just!

It grieves the nation of Israel when the innocent civilians of Gaza are killed. The liberal media has painted an ugly, bloody picture of Israel in the Gaza war that started on July the 8th 2014. The liberal media has portrayed them as civilian and baby killers! This is a very dishonest and unjust picture of the actions of Israel in the Gaza war. Honest, God-fearing people will step back and look at the full picture in the mid-east, in the land of Israel. America was founded on Biblical principals; we should regulate our actions on behalf of Israel according to the Bible. Safety and peace sometimes comes with a high price of innocent lives being destroyed. This appears to be the price that must be paid for the safety and peace of Israel. These priceless sacrifices, of those people who are innocent in Gaza, may lead to a future of safety and peace for their families in Gaza. Presently, they are controlled by terrorists such as the Hamas. This terrorist group is stealing the safety and peace of the Palestinians in Gaza. Hamas has spoken loud and clear about their intentions. They plan to wipe all Jews off the face of the earth and then anyone else who resists becoming a Muslim. The Hamas terrorists have the same mind-set as Hitler and those suicidal Arab terrorists who struck the Twin Towers in 2001.

There are several difficulties concerning Israel protecting innocent Gaza citizens in this war against the Hamas terrorist group who is controlling the Gaza Strip:

One major problem is that the cowardly Hamas soldiers hide behind the skirts of their mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters. They have no problem using anyone of these as shields, including their own babies. They force Israel to destroy civilians if they want to destroy terrorist Hamas soldiers. If these Hamas soldiers want to be martyrs for their god, they need to come out and fight like men! The blame for innocent civilians being killed falls on those cowardly Hamas soldiers. But, in truth, they should lay down their weapons of war and bring peace to Gaza!

Innocent civilians are also in harms way because the Hamas group stores their weapons of war against Israel in the homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques where civilians are concentrated. If Israel is to stop these rocket attacks etc., it must destroy the weapons and those who choose to use them against Israel. Hamas soldiers often hide near or in the homes of Gaza civilians. As a result of this, when Israel strikes Hamas, innocent Gaza civilians are killed.

Hamas has no problem killing their own people on purpose or by mistake. This makes good propaganda for the gullible people of the world. They kill their own people and simply say that the Israel Defense Force killed them. The world swallows this like a starving fish after a worm on a hook. If their rockets aimed at Israel misfire and fall on Gaza, Hamas claims that it was a rocket fired from Israel.

The Israel Defense Force never purposely targets innocent Gaza civilians. They even drop leaflets warning the Gaza civilians to leave the area before they destroy an area where they believe Hamas terrorists are operating. But, sadly many of the people refuse to leave their homes. If they refuse to get out of harms way, their blood is on their own hands and on the hands of the Hamas terrorists. The Gaza civilians did not just climb onto this merry-go-round of war on July 8th 2014. This war between Hamas and Israel has been going on for several years. When Israel says that they are going to attack an area in Gaza, those people in Gaza know it is true. Therefore, if they die because they choose to stay, it is their own fault.

Those who appear to be innocent are not always innocent civilians. Hamas has training camps where they brainwash and train little children to hate the Jews and how to fight them. It is not uncommon for an Israel Defense soldier to face a very young child trying to kill them. Hamas will put a machine gun in the hands of a four year old child. They teach them to be suicidal bombers for their wicked cause of destroying the Jews. The innocent Palestinian people of Gaza need to take a stand against Hamas. It has been hard to determine the innocent from the guilty in Gaza. A smiling mom or a little child may be pushing a button that shoots a rocket of destruction into Israel. There are radical Muslims all over the world who follow the religion of Islam, in the Koran, to the letter of many murderous commands. Anti-Semitism is drilled in them from the cradle to the crept!

Because of the constant rockets falling on Israel from Gaza, among other things, Israel has been forced to attack Gaza. This is not an easy choice for Israel because they value the lives of innocent Gaza civilians. Israel has suffered loss of peace, safety and lives due to the deadly rockets launched by Hamas into Israel. Israel protects its people whether they are Palestinian or Jewish. It is not the policy of Hamas to protect the people of Gaza.

The citizens of the world can lower the price of this war in Gaza. It is time for America and the other allies of Israel to take a stand and defend Israel. Hamas and like-minded groups are a terrorist threat to the whole world. We have supplied Israel with weapons for their protection, but it is time to provide them with manpower. Drones and snipers can be used to take out this infection named Hamas. I understand that there are a lot of politics involved in this, and that we are trying to avoid a World War. But, if the United Nations steps up and does what is right by Israel, this festering Hamas sore in Gaza can be healed. Many of the Palestinians have been rallying and protesting against Israel’s attack on Gaza. They need to take the Hamas blinders off of their eyes and turn their anger towards their real enemy, the Hamas terrorists. The Palestinian Authority needs to quit holding hands with Hamas, like lovers.

In the future, Jesus, the Messiah will bring an end to any war in Gaza and all the wars of the world! Our hearts go out to those suffering people in Gaza who are innocent! But, many of them are not innocent! Israel has long endured torment by the hands of the Hamas terrorists of Gaza. We at Hope of Israel Baptist Mission especially express our compassion for Israel’s losses and suffering. I encourage any Christian reading this to find some Jewish people and tell them that you love them because they are God’s chosen people!

Isaiah 2:4 “And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

You can view a video below featuring Israel’s National Anthem, “Hatikvah” (The Hope). It expresses the hopes and dreams of the Jewish people to have freedom and peace. It is sung in Hebrew with English captions. Beautiful pictures of the Promised Land unfold as the song plays.

Rocket Attacks on Israel From Gaza

By Israel Defense Force

  Israel Under Fire Banner

“Israel’s citizens are regularly threatened by rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Hamas and other terrorist organizations launch mortars, rockets and missiles towards Israelis cities. Here is everything you need to know about the constant threat Hamas poses to Israel’s civilians.

Rocket Attacks on Israel Graph Since Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, terrorists have fired more than 11,000 rockets into Israel. Over 5 million Israelis are currently living under threat of rocket attacks.

More than half a million Israelis have less than 60 seconds to find shelter after a rocket is launched from Gaza into Israel. Most rockets launched from Gaza into Israel are capable of reaching Israel’s biggest cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Rocket fire from Gaza is a constant threat facing Israel’s civilians. In 2011 alone, 630 rockets from Gaza hit Israeli towns. That’s an even higher number than in 2010, when 231 rockets hit Israel.

Rocket Types Attacking Israel Graph Since 2001, more than 15,200 rockets and mortars, an average of over 3 rocket attacks every single day, have targeted Israel.

Hamas, the ruling entity of the Gaza Strip, is responsible for most of the rocket fire on Israeli population centers. The organization – which is recognized by the US, UK, EU and Israel as a terrorist group – has been increasing the size and capabilities of its rocket arsenal. In addition, Hamas has turned a blind eye as other terrorist organizations have launched rocket attacks.

Twice since 2005, the IDF has been forced to launch major operations in response to heavy rocket fire on Israel’s civilians. The most recent, Operation Protective Edge, began after continual and relentless rocket attacks on Israeli cities since the beginning of 2014.

 Operation Protective Edge – 2014

On July 7, 2014, the IDF launched Operation Protective Edge in order to restore quiet to the region and stop Hamas terrorism. The single goal of the operation is to stop Hamas’ incessant rocket attacks against Israel’s civilians.

The operation is ongoing, and since the start of the operation over 1000 rockets have been launched at Israel. Of those, 754 have hit Israel and approximately 201 were intercepted by the Iron Dome Missile defense system.

Hamas has fired long range rockets at cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Rockets such as the M-302 – the same missiles confiscated from the KLOS-C weapons seizure – have long range capabilities and endanger the majority if Israel’s population. Rocket sirens have sounded non-stop across Israel, sending civilians running for shelter.

In response to these rocket attacks, the IDF has targeted over 1,474 terror targets using precision attacks to pinpoint terrorists and terror infrastructure while limiting civilian casualties. Operation Pillar of Defense – 2012

On November 14, 2012, in response to incessant rocket attacks in the Gaza Strip, the IDF launched Operation Pillar of Defense, a widespread campaign against terror targets in Gaza.

During the eight days of the operation — and in the weeks leading up to it — life was unbearable for more than 3.5 million Israelis. From November 14 to November 21, Palestinian terrorist groups fired more than 1,506 rockets at Israel. The majority of those rockets struck Israel, damaging homes, schools and other civilian areas.

During the operation, Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups fired long-range rockets, such as the Fajr-5, toward Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Though the IDF severely damaged the terrorist organizations’ long-range rocket arsenal, more than 3.5 million Israelis are still under the threat of Hamas’ rocket fire.” (2)
