Thanksgiving should spring like a pure river from our open, obedient heart to God. God blesses us with many wonderful things. Our Scriptural songs should express thanksgiving to God. The fine-tuned, polished instruments that produce melodious music should praise God with thanksgiving. Our God is a giving God worthy to receive all of our thanksgiving. King David expressed Psalms of thanksgiving to God on his harp.
A Thanksgiving Poem Based on Psalms 147:7-15
(Written by Avi Goldstein)
Thanksgiving!
Sing joyful songs of thanksgiving to the Lord!
Play Scriptural songs of praise on the Harpsichord!
Give thanksgiving for the early and latter rain that God brings!
God makes the green grass grow when the rain hitting the ground sings.
Give thanksgiving to God Who caringly feeds the wild beasts so they do not die.
God lovingly feeds the young ravens which cry.
Give thanksgiving to God Who is our Rock and stronghold.
The fear of the Lord is like precious, pure gold.
Hope for the mercy of the Lord, as we are told.
Israel! Give high praises of thanksgiving to God.
In the future, King Jesus will rule this World from Israel with an iron rod.
Israel! Give thanksgiving to God Who gives miraculous strength to the bars of your gates.
God will greatly bless your families whom the Devil hates.
Israel! Give thanksgiving to God Who will make peace like a river in your land.
God makes for you the best golden wheat, even in the hot, barren desert sand.
Give thanksgiving to God Who sends His holy commandments all over the Earth.
God’s holy Word reveals sinful mankind’s curse.
Repent of your sins today before it is too late.
Believe on Jesus as your personal Saviour, and one day you will enter Heaven’s pearly gate.
Pray like the repentant publican, and the blood of Jesus will wash clean your sinful slate.
Give God Thanksgiving for all the blessings that He has showered on you!
God will always be faithful and true!
Luke 18:13-14 “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Psalms 147:7-15 “Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: 8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. 9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. 11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. 12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. 13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. 14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. 15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.”
