Life After Death Confirmed

Life after death is a fact that is written in the Bible, and life after death has recently been confirmed by many scientists!

“LIFE after death has been ‘confirmed’ by scientists who have discovered consciousness continues even once a person has died.” (1)

In the past, it was believed that the brain stopped all activity 30 seconds after the heart stopped pumping blood. After a group of scientists at the University of Southampton studied over 2,000 people whose heart stopped for over 30 seconds, these scientist are certain that life continues more than 30 seconds after the heart stops! At least, 40% of the people who were revived in the case study said that they had a conscious awareness after being pronounced dead! Some of these patients were able to describe with accurate detail the events going on around them for at least 3 minutes after their heart stopped and they were pronounced clinically dead!

“Lead researcher Dr Sam Parnia said: ‘Contrary to perception, death is not a specific moment but a potentially reversible process that occurs after any severe illness or accident causes the heart, lungs and brain to cease functioning.

If attempts are made to reverse this process, it is referred to as cardiac arrest; however, if these attempts do not succeed it is called death.’” (2)

The fact of life after death has been stated in the Bible, but many scientists continue to doubt the possibility of life after death!

Jesus told the one thief on the cross that his life would continue on in Paradise after he died on the cross. As this thief hung on the cross, he repented and believed on Jesus as his Saviour before he died on the cross beside Jesus. This is one true biblical illustration proving that the life of a person continues on forever after their physical body dies.

Luke 23:32-33, 39-43And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

Our Jewish Saviour, Jesus, was crucified with two thieves. Everyone should hold a special place in their heart for Jews because God chose to take on a Jewish physical body, Luke 23:32-33.

The one thief did not repent and believe on Jesus as his Saviour. He was only concerned about his physical body dying. He wanted to live and continue his theft, Luke 23:39.

The other thief realized that death of the physical body was certain. He knew that he needed to choose where he would spend his life after the death of the physical body, Luke 23-40.

The one thief wisely admitted that he was a sinner deserving the punishment of crucifixion on the cross. This thief also wisely understood that Jesus was without sin. He knew that Jesus could determine where he would live for eternity after death, Luke 23-41.

The repentant thief asked Jesus to remember him when he came to His kingdom. This is what you call a death bed confession. This was the final prayer of a repentant sinner who believed on Jesus before it was too late, Luke 23-42.

Jesus told the repentant thief that he would be in Paradise with Him that very day. After their death on the cross, their soul and spirit would be alive in Paradise. Even though the physical body dies, the soul and spirit will continue to live. In the future resurrection of every person’s body, their body will be rejoined with their soul and spirit. Each person must make a choice of where they will live for eternity. The only way to live in eternal happiness after the physical death of the body is to repent and believe on Jesus as your Saviour, Luke 23-43.

If a person dies physically, their soul and spirit will go to Hell if thy never repented and believed on Jesus. After the physical death of the body, it is forever too late to repent and be saved. Their soul and spirit will never cease to exist. Thy will face everlasting punishment like the rich man in Luke 16.

Luke 16:19-31 “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:  20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.  27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:  28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.  29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

Even though the people mentioned in the story in Luke 16 died physically, their soul and spirit continued to exist. Their soul and spirit did not go into a state of sleep, as falsely taught by some religions.

This is not a fictional story because it names real people, such as Abraham. It also names a man named Lazarus who went to be with Abraham when his physical body died. It is apparent that the rich man is also a real person. Abraham is not in a fictional, cartoon land.

The rich man in Hell could see with his eyes and he could feel the torments of Hell. The rich man saw the comforts of Lazarus that he did not have. He could speak and cry and beg for mercy. He asked that Lazarus come and cool his tongue with water. This means the rich man was thirsty and could feel. He wanted relief from the flames of Hell. Also, he could hear and he could remember all the opportunities he had to do right.

The real people, Abraham and Lazarus, were in a different place than the rich man in Hell. At that time, Paradise was inside the Earth. There was a gulf dividing Hell from where Abraham and Lazarus were in Paradise. Abraham told him that no one could come from Hell to where he was, and no one could come from where Abraham was to Hell.

The rich man in Hell pleaded that Abraham would send someone to warn his brothers of this terrible place called Hell. Hell is a real place of torment. Also, the Bible is a very real book. Abraham describes it in the terms of Moses and the prophets. Basically, Abraham said if they would not believe the Bible they would not even believe someone who resurrected from the dead. Moses and the prophets are real people.

We must conclude this is not a fictional parable because it states the names of real people that lived in Bible times. Jesus was talking to his disciples. Jesus said that when He spoke to the disciples He spoke to them not in parables but plainly. If this was a fictional parable, the disciples would have asked Him what it meant if it was not a true story. Even if it had been a fictional parable, it would have been teaching a lesson. The lesson that it appears to be teaching is that the wicked are punished and the righteous are rewarded. But, it is not a fictional parable. Sixteen other times it is stated in the book of Luke that Jesus spoke a parable. If this had been a parable it would have been stated as such.

This is clear evidence, in Luke 16, that the life of a person continues to exist after the death of the physical body.

The souls of those who are physically killed during the future seven-year Tribulation will not fall into a soul sleep. They will continue to be alive and alert of their present surroundings and what happened to them.

Revelation 6:9-11 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

When the fifth seal is opened during the Tribulation, souls and spirits without physical bodies will be seen under the altar of God. These are living souls who will be murdered because they believe on Jesus as their Saviour.

There will be no unbelievers under God’s altar in this Tribulation scene. As already stated, the souls and spirits of the unsaved immediately go to Hell at the death of the physical body.

Scientists and medical doctors have never been certain as to when the body is completely dead, allowing the soul and spirit to leave. But, we know from the Bible that when the soul and spirit leave the dead, physical body for the last time, the person’s soul and spirit will continue to be alive in either Hell or Heaven, Revelation 6:9.

The souls under the altar will not be in a state of sleep or unawareness. In fact, even though they will not have their physical bodies, they will be very much alive and alert. They will speak to the Lord. They will ask the Lord how long before their enemies will be judged for murdering them. They will request that God avenge their blood. It is clear from this reference in the Bible that the soul and spirit of a person continues to function after the physical body dies, Revelation 6:10.

Even though the souls under the altar will not have a physical body, they will be able to wear white robes that are given to them. This means that a soul is capable of taking clothes and putting them on. Not only will these souls under the altar be able to communicate, but they will also be able to hear when the Lord speaks to them. They will be in a state of rest, not in a state of sleep. They will be told to wait until others are killed for the cause of Christ during the Tribulation. It is apparent that these are souls without bodies.

The soul will continue to live after the death of the body. Please make sure that you repent and believe on the Lord Jesus so that your soul will be alive in Heaven instead of Hell at the death of your physical body.
