Rapture Trumpet

Prophecy in the book of Revelation reveals that the translation/ Rapture of the church taking place will be the next major prophetic event to be fulfilled in the Scriptures. “Rapture”, “translation”, and “caught up” all mean the same thing. Enoch was translated to Heaven because he pleased God, Hebrews 11:5. Throughout this article we will use the word translation when talking about the Rapture. To the bride, it may seem like the wedding is never going to take place. But, before she knows it, the bridegroom is walking her down the aisle. Jesus is coming! Get ready! Those who know Jesus as their Saviour should rejoice when death comes. This life on Earth is only a short time in comparison to eternity!

Revelation 4:1-3 “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit….”

Those who study prophecy in the Bible and rightly divide the truth are convinced that the next major event in prophecy to take place is what we call the translation / Rapture. Translation means to be “caught up” as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. When Jesus comes back to get His bride, the church, the trumpet of God will be heard as He is descending to translate the saved people to Heaven. John was shown the order of future events. God had John write them down in the book called Revelation. There is other evidence of the coming translation, but the book of Revelation sets future events in their proper order. John first heard a trumpet, as described in Revelation 1:10-11.

Revelation 1:10-11 “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,  11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia;”

John heard a voice that sounded like a trumpet. This was the voice of Jesus saying He is the “first and the last.” This takes place just before John is shown a future scene in Heaven. What will happen after believers hear the Translation / Rapture trumpet? After we hear the trumpet, we will be changed and caught up to Heaven before the throne of God.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

Many people are ignorant about future events in prophecy because either they are too lazy to study prophecy or they are not encouraged to read it. We need to be fully aware that when a believer dies physically their soul and spirit go to be with the Lord in Heaven. When Jesus comes back for the translation of the church, He will bring them, their soul and spirit, back with Him. They will be united with a glorified body made from their original body.

It is like a seed being planted in a garden. The seed dies and then it opens and produces new living bodies. For example: A corn seed will die when it is put into the ground. It then opens up and produces a plant that produces new corn seed. The new corn seed will have some of the essence of the original seed.

Just as Jesus rose from the dead, believers will be raised from the dead in the future. After the dead in Christ rise, those Christians who are living when the translation trumpet is sounded will be changed and caught up to Heaven. Our new bodies will not be cursed by sin, and we will no longer have a sin nature inherited from Adam, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. John heard the trumpet call just before he entered Heaven, Revelation 4:1.

Matthew 25:1-13 “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”

Are you ready for the trumpet to blow or will you be caught not ready? Get ready before it is too late by repenting and believing on the Lord Jesus as your personal Saviour.
