Many Americans and even some Christians are accepting doctrinal heresy as the truth. It is heresy to teach or believe a false doctrine that contradicts true Bible doctrine. In these last days before Jesus returns, heresy is spreading like destroying wild-fires. Many corrupt Bible Colleges are producing pastors and preachers who believe and teach heresy. Good, godly parents send their children off to Bible College to get a Bible education. But, instead, their children are returned to them educated in heresy. Pastors, parents and students are encouraged to ask enough questions so that they can identify good and bad Bible Colleges. Many pastors are failing at their job of teaching the church members the basic Bible doctrines. Many Sunday school teachers and church leaders are ignorant about much of the Bible. Many Christians have become very lazy about reading their Bibles and studying correct Bible doctrine. Some Christians are very easily misled by someone teaching heresy. It is time to wake up and understand the difference between Bible heresy and Bible truth.

A survey was taken among evangelical Christians in 2016 to check their understanding about Bible doctrine:

“Seven in ten evangelicals–more than the population at large–said that Jesus was the first being God created.” (1)

Christians who properly understand the Bible know that Jesus is the Creator. Jesus is not a created being.

Colossians 1:16 “For by him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him [Jesus], and for him [Jesus]:”
“Fifty-six percent agreed that ‘the Holy Spirit is a divine force but not a personal being.’
A huge increase in evangelicals (28 percent, up from 9 percent) indicated that the Third Person of the Trinity is not equal with God the Father or Jesus, a direct contradiction of orthodox Christianity.”  (2)

Contrary to this heresy about the Holy Spirit, He is God, not a divine force. The Holy Spirit is an equal person of our triune God.

Acts 5:3-4 “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”
“By definition, evangelicals in this survey believed that ‘only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Savior receive God’s free gift of eternal salvation.’ Yet nearly half agreed that ‘God accepts the worship of all religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.’” (3)

It is heresy to believe that God accepts the worship of those who do not trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Saviour. There are many who call themselves Christians who add their good works to the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. Catholics call themselves Christians. But, they trust in their ceremonies to save them. They are not Christian at all. Modern day Judaism rejects Jesus as their Saviour. Islam embraces a false God and rejects Jesus as their Saviour. The only worship that God accepts must come through Jesus. A person must know Jesus as their Saviour by repenting and believing on Him.

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I [Jesus] am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me [Jesus].”
“Two-thirds of evangelicals–more than Americans in general–said Heaven is a place where all people will ultimately be reunited with their loved ones. Many of these folks evidently see no contradiction between their casual universalism and the evangelical creed that salvation comes through faith in Christ alone.” (4)

It is heresy to believe that everyone will enter Heaven and be with their loved ones regardless of what they believe. A person must be born again to enter Heaven. Even though Hell is not a popular topic in many modern churches, it is still a real place that unsaved people go to when they die.

John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Luke 16:23 “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
“Two out of five evangelicals say ‘worshipping alone or with family is a valid replacement for regularly attending church.’” (5)

We certainly should worship God when we are by ourselves or with our family. But, it is heresy to think that this worship replaces regularly attending church. Christians are commanded to attend church on a regular basis. This is Bible doctrine.

Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
“Morris [in relation to the survey] further noted that former Newsday religion reporter Kenneth Briggs recently told Religion News Service that the faith he finds in ‘mega-type churches’ is a ‘Bible-less,’ ‘alternative version of Christianity.’ Scripture, he says, has become ‘a museum exhibit, hallowed as a treasure but enigmatic and untouched.’” (6)

In many churches and homes, the Bible is just a dusty antique that sits on a cluttered shelf.  But, the Bible itself declares that we are responsible to study the Bible so that we can know the truth from heresy.

2 Timothy 2:15-16 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.”

We are certainly in a time of Bible heresy that is profane and vain babblings. False teachers are claiming that God has cast Israel aside forever. They claim that the Church has replaced Israel. Israel is still the apple of God’s eye. Many Jews will be saved in the future.

Zechariah 2:8 “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you [Israel]: for he that toucheth you [Israel] toucheth the apple of his eye.”
Romans 11:26-27 “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”

There are those who are teaching the heresy that Christians of the Church will go through at least part of the Tribulation, also known as Daniel’s seventieth week.

Revelation 3:10 “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation [Tribulation], which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

God gave us the King James Bible so that we could know the truth and avoid heresy. Study your Bible so that you will know the truth when you hear it. If you properly study your Bible, you will recognize heresy when you hear it. It is time for Christians to rise up and take a stand against heresy.
